Another Turkcell 3G surprise

Having been recommended and purchasing a 3G Usb modem for the sum of 149ytl and a months subs of 70ytl for unlimited useage in November 2008. We have since had many probs getting on net spend hours ringing them up. Having purchase a months unlimited subscription on the 15th of July for 70ytl a week later we read in the Cyprus Today that the supscription had changed to limited 10mg on the 2nd August our unlimited subs ran out and we had to pay 80ytl for unlimited. We have just been to renew our 80ytl subs and find surprise surprise that the charge is now risen to the sum off 110ytl. per month. When will these increases stop what are your views on this.

Great, they're at it again! I think you'll also find that there's no unlimited package only 10GB plus which means that once you've hit your 10GB limit you can only use the internet between 2am and 8am!!! Or buy another 30 days top up of course which is what I had to do last month when I found this out!

The 10GB has gone up to 90tl - how can they justify a 20tl increase when in the signal strength and reliability seems to have got a lot worse over the last couple of weeks?

i got mine last week, and am very pleased with it, its always connected first time speeds ok, and i use it as and when i want to and in a week i have used less then 1/2gb what are you using it for thats making you use so much ?

well changed tel sim start up is quicker ,, thought nice and cheap started 15 tl for half meg ..lasted 2 days beacause i watched clips on u tube sucked it on 1 meg now 24 tl been 1 week still counting

I bougt a Turkcell dongle 5 weeks ago and am delighted with it. I bought a 10mb package and it lasted well, even though I used it a lot. I am back in October and am just going to purchase the 4mb package and see how long it lasts. I mainly used it for email and web pages. i did not watch video on it, but it did me for what I needed. Is the signal weaker in other places than Girne? Mine connected first time, every time and I was impressed by how fast it was.

I have Net Meter on my system to measure my usage. It is surprising how little I use. Anyone unsure which package to buy should run this program for a while and see what they really need. The program allows you to see projected usage based on daily/weekly averages.



I am sure there are other ones out there, but Net Meter is free.
