Hi Jamie

without a sub you can get six DECENT English speaking channels via a 1m dish pointing at Nilesat - if you don't mind some Arabic ads on some of 'em

If you want BBC/ ITV/ C4 you need a 4.2m - yes really !

With the dishes you have - you can expect CNN, BBC World, Euronews - without a subscription and not much else worthwhile :(

I think you can get a cartoon channel, maybe cartoon network, on Turksat and if you toggle the language button on your receiver remote, you can get it in English

Msg 4

I fail to see how motorising a dish is going to bring in any more English speaking channels _ PLUS the poster says they already HAVE three dishes.

Jamie.. are you going to use this for living or holidays.. if the former you could consider subscribing to ShowtimeArabia.com or Digiturk

Hi Jamie..

As I thought.. subscribing to any of these services a waste of time, then... DVDs player.??!!

BTW did you notice my thread whereby Iceman ( http://www.skycyprus.com ) has discovered that ITV C4 , More4 , E4 and "more " can now be watched on a 1.8m dish ?

If you can see1* West Thor & you are pretty ok on a pc you can get more English channels than you can shake a stick at on RCSDigitv

* http://en.kingofsat.net/pack-digitv.php

You need a satellite box like a technomate 5400 & as long as you know how to work a pc & winrar or winzip it's easy

re msg 5, we get the 9.99tl a month package and there are still lots of English programmes to watch on Digiturk! We get Fox and CNBC-English & E2, you can put English subtitles on every channel (good for practicing the Turkish!) and you can change the language to English on programmes that have been dubbed like the 'Rachael Ray/Martha Stuart' show etc plus you can watch Hollyoaks and lots of American soaps/dramas, there are cartoon channels too, I would try that first then you can always upgrade to a more expensive package... just saying this as the girl in the Digiturk office was trying to get me to subscribe to the more expensive monthly package but I knew I would get enough English programmes on this one for me as I used to to watch these channels in Turkey and change to English language etc (there is a language button on the remote that you press).

If you want I can copy out the list or you can get the leaflet from the Digiturk office which has now moved and is on the way to the Doğankoy entrance roundabout.
