Im not computer illiterate, but this one has me beat. When I try to save in word, nothing happens. I also get a message "Auto Recovery Switched Off" I can save in Word Pad but this causes other alignment etc probs. I have tried all ways using Office Manager etc to solve - I give up. I know certain members are switched on to PC probs. Can someone advise please.

not sure what version of word you using but, open word and go to tools - options- save - select tick auto save. see if that helps. any other configuration all under same area should be able to select/configure your word. hope it helps.

Hi Try going to 'tools' drop down menu and choosing 'options' and then select the 'save' tab Tick the box 'allow background saves' Tick the box 'save autorecover info: every (10 mins is default) In the 'Default format' box ensure it says "word document (*.doc) - or 'docx' if you are using a later version or MsWord. In the 'file locations' tab you should be able to see where it saves all the files, this is normally C:\...\my documents. If this has changed it may be that you have had a virus attack of some sort or something has changed it. You can use the modify button to correct this. Hope this helps GG

You can tell if it has saved the document because after you save you will see the document change name. Loook right at the top of the Microsoft Word and instead of document 1 it will be whatever you called it. Having Auto recovery will not stop you from saving. What version are you using?
