Please can anyone tell me where the dolmus starts from in Kyrenia and how far walking it is from the Pia Bella Hotel. Also how frequent are they - I know they won't be running to a timetable.

Thanks

10/15mins walk from Pia Bella to opposite Post Office, past hospital (on right) and buses run 10 mins or so.

The Dolmus 'Terminus' - to glorify it slightly! - is opposite the main car park (the one where the 'big screen' is), just along from the main Post Office, Law courts etc.

The Colony Hotel is just around one corner, and the Fire Station is around the other. Telephone Exchange with the massive aerials on top is only a few metres away.

If you come out of the Pia Bella front entrance and turn left, it's at the other end of that road, maybe 5 or 10 minutes walk (I can't be accurate, 'cos I do DO walking... )

The frequency of the service depends on where you want to go - for Escape Beach, for instance, you can catch either an Alsancak, Lapta, Karsiyaka, or Çamlibel dolmus, (and maybe others, for all I know) so you would be looking at every few minutes during the day.

The Hotel staff will be able to give you a better idea, they really look after you in the Pia Bella...

Oh my goodness,

Just spotted a 'typo' in para 3 it should say " 'cos I don't DO walking..." - rather alters the meaning!

Usually to Lapta/lefkosa every 10 mins. The çatalköy bus only runs every hour on the hour from girne.

Ajaney, if you phone them they'll pick you up at Pia Bella, might charge a lira or two extra though. Went to Lefkosia Wednesday, no dolmus in so took bus, still 3.5 tl, one way. Came back on dolmus, 5.5 tl, up from 4tl in May. Beauty of dolmus is it has terminus inside walled city. Hardly ever take car, unless we have guests.

The best value dolmus must be to Ozankoy 2tl no matter where you drop off, we went from Girne to Ozankoy and back down to the main road, up one way and down another, even did a detour to drop a chap off at his door with ten bags of supermarket shopping! a lovely cheap tour.
