I need some help, I have an LG TV and DVD recorder. Not had any problems untill recently. I brought back some new discs to record on from UK, always had them befor! SONY DVD+RW. Every one I have tried says disc error. Is it the disc's or could some one have messed around with the DVD player?. We have had little visitors recently, they may have been mucking around. Any one who can offer to look at it for me, I would be greatfull, I am a Muppet were these things are concerned!! many thanks Lovinit

Can you still record on one of your old disks? - as they are 'RW' you should be able to record a bit more on the end of one, just as a test, unless they've all been 'finalised' in order to be able to play in other DVD players. If necessary, you could select a disk that you don't really need to keep, and erase / reformat it, and use that for the test. If the machine will no longer record on a disk that it recorded on previously, then the problem is with the machine - either a fault, or 'finger trouble'... If it does work ok on one of your old disks, then the new ones may be the problem, as msg 2 suggests. I can let you have a DVD+R of a different brand to try, if you need one to confirm your diagnosis, just post on here, or email me.

maxell have never given me any trouble, I try to buy the '4X' speed if I'm buying DVD+R (record once only) types, as they are a lot more reliable that the faster disks. Funnily enough, Tesco 'Own Brand' have also proved to be very consistent and reliable, and a heck of a sight cheaper than Maxell - particularly if you buy one of the bulk packs, where they're all on a central 'spindle' I find it a bit of a waste buying the ones in 'CD' type cases, because I store 'em in big aluminium 'DJ type' carrying cases. Hope that helps! Keith.
