We are looking to move to Kyrenia next year and are therefore interested in what employment opportunities are available in Kyrenia or would we need to consider a commute to somewhere like Nicosia?

Are backgrounds are IT and Training & Development for my husband and commercial development (sales and marketing) along with training and banking some time ago for myself. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you are solely relying on employment to make a life in the TRNC.....DON'T DO IT!

Getting a job should be seen as a help to live a lifestyle, not a way of life.

Please be sure that if you do move you have an ample monthly income without having to rely on working, otherwise you will soon be selling up and moving back to your homeland and being a lot poorer in the pocket.

I, for one, know what it is like to live the dream but then the reality of day to day life hits harder than you imagine and your only option is to starve or cut your losses. We opted to cut our losses.

How much money do you need £00.00 per month for a couple with a modest life style to live on say with a car

a wee drink now and then 2 trips back to blighty a year and the odd meal out plus all tour utilities?

Hi Helenf you need to be able to afford to live without relying on getting a job here - then if you are lucky enough to get one it will be a bonus!

Many many people have come here on a whim without carrying out proper research they expect to live as if they were on a 2 week holiday all the time & then are suprised that they cannot afford to do so.

Medical treatment has to be paid for, some drugs are very expensive also if you have children you have to pay for schooling.

I think you need the same as you do at home, but its swings and roundabouts

Maybe not allocated the same.

Your setting up costs are high.

To buy a car..lots more

Council tax..less

Heating..less

Water rates..less, but in the summer you'll have to buy water

Aircon...more

Local fruit and veg..pennies

Meat...horrendous

But, its worth it.
