Based on the following: 1st - 3 points 2nd - 2 points 3rd - 1 point If no paticular order was stated then all get 2 points. POINTS: Effendi's 20 , Ambience 15 , Cenap 14 , guidos 13 , Dragon 12 , Sabor 11 All others are in single figures. Pretty good considering there are 61 restaurants mentioned so far. I'll keep this going if people are interested, Paul (Nothing better to do on nightshift)

Can anyone give directions to Effendi's from the Colony? I suppose the large public car park almost opposite would be the best place to park? Do you have to book?

Instructions to Efendi's:- If Colony is on your left, turn left into the road directly after the Old Grapevine. Keep bearing left and you will see it in front of you on the left. 6, Kamil Pasha Sokak. Abandon your car outside, give them the keys and they will park it for you.

I think if there is going to be a propper you should split this into some categories, I use Effendis and Fast food but they are widely different a poll would be good but maybe "Fast food kebab" "Kebab and Meze" "International" "Best winter warmth" (for the cosy ones) just as a few ideas

This is tricky. These are not in any particular order. Sabor - Lefkosa Manipeni - Girne Erol's - Ozankoy It would have included Mascaron in Catalkoy but they were "forced" to leave last year & they closed. Best pasta I've ever eaten & knocks spots off Pasta Mania which left me cold. When I eat Pasta I want fresh, home made pasta. I so miss Enrico & Ruzgar.

I enjoyed my starter at Efendis but my main of Coq au Vin was so disappointing. Coq au Vin it was not. Bland chicken with a bland sauce it was. The sauce wasn't red wine & the chicken hadn't been cooked in the sauce anyway. I can cook but don't but I do know my food.

Hiya scruff its in Kennedy Avenur just off Makirious Avnue. Its not Italian. The chef Shaun worked for Jamie Oliver he set up his 15 restaurant. I just love it. Its full iof c osmoptialian people. They love to dine that sidethe place to be. Sadly to say when we do get the chance we go south. I know because Guido is Italian and he will find many Italian restauRants there. Its so sad as I only get one day off and cant find an Irish one. I have to say with my hand on my heart they are all good. sad but true

Midsummer House for classic classy meal and surroundings. Al Shaheen Karakum & Lapta for fabulous curries and friendly service. Patina in the summer in the garden. Mentioned in dispatches!! Happy Valley for Takeaways as Riaz is the complete professional restaurant owner. China garden. Tariq & crew do a great lunch and dinner. Cafe de Paris great value wrap and drink at lunchtime. One to avoid, rip off, no water, soap or towels in the toilets; the new Mehane in Catalkoy, on the bend past the coffee shops.

Lilli the nice thing about eating out in North Cyprus is the choice. We have always found the food is always good - with the odd exception - with prices to suit all pockets
