set the record straight. It must now be the duty of the hairdresser’s federation to list the following information in the official gazette (Kibris) and its sister paper The Cyprus Today: o All registered hair dressing establishments o The directors/owners of registered establishments o The director/owners qualifications to run or own a registered establishment listed o The manager of an establishment listed o The managers qualifications to manage an establishment listed It would also be of interest to the clients of these establishments to have a greater understanding of the TRNC certification or award for hairdressing and how this award compares to a City & Guilds award.

While on the subject, it would be interesting to know how many casino employers and employees have passed the Gambling Operations Casino, NVQ – Level 3 (City & Guilds)! It will only take one casino or betting Shop Company to become the “special advisor” to the ministry of trade, employment and education, help draft a law to include educational requirements, set up an NVQ Gambling operations school and make sure that all competitors are arrested and deported for working illegally.

Having a website would mean that they would have to list the federations short and long term goals, the minutes from their meetings, annual reports, the members, directors, elections, rules and regulations, changes in legislation, about them, what their role is in the framework of the TRNC NGO's ................................................................... So I imagine we will have to survive on hearsay can't see the federation taking a short cut (pardon the pun) and using the worldwideweb as a media tool!

Hello peeps It seems to be common place for people in this beautiful country to claim qualifications that they dont have or had while working for another company of a similar name elsewhere, or they claim to have diplomas/certificates that have no relevance here, one recent one is a van going round the area saying 'Corgi registered' who are they kidding ?? anyhow corgi has now been replaced I think there will be a few examples before too long, these people are just the same as the *well qualified agents and sales people* who sold us our places and we fell for it then and we seem to keep on falling for it. My opinion only

Perhaps Laptagal should set up a training centre to enable all of us with the old 32Ds to get the much bigger V1s which I know were very popular during the war - oops I mentioned the war but I think I got away with it. Mal

Hi Mal, would be happy to but not currently living in TRNC. Also, would need to be linked into an Assessment Centre and don't know if these exist in Cyprus. Maybe one day......

laptagal, Assessment centres in the South but none in the North - yet! Have put my old D31/D32/D33/D34/D35 and D36 certificates into the cupboard and there they will gather dust till whoever survives me wants to light a good fire one day. Sad but there you go, all that work and knowledge in the communications industry gone down the tubes! Mick
