| Can anyone give me any info about nursing in TRNC. I have current registration for Nursing and Midwifery Council in UK and extensive experience. Have tried nuring agency here but no work. Have put my name down at Girne Hospital. Dont mind what type of nursing I do but will have to do some nursing to keep registration. My alternative will be to go back to UK periodically to do some agency work but would prefer to nurse here. |

| When my Wife was in Lefkosia hospital a few years ago, nurses sat at the end of the ward and smoked. A doctor told me "Nurses do not nurse. They are technicians". I hope things have changed! |

| The thing is out here the nurses are only paid to give shots, change catheters etc etc...family is expected to do the tending, ie, bathing feeding watering etc etc, but some people don't have family to do this so they pay someone to do it...when i was in hospital, there was a woman that looked after some people for about 100TL a day, and she looked after a few folk...she even took care of me for a bit too...you could maybe look into this line of work...
