Just booked summer flights with Pegasus for 2010. Paid £300.49 total for 2 adults Stanstead-Ercan return online. Just thought I'd let people know the summer schedule is out.

Dawn - the trouble is that it is not operating fully or properly. I have a lot of passengers who are only getting one ways at present - so I have not publicised it I booked five people one way yesterday for mid summer at a total of 564.95 one way (3 Adults) and that was including the booking fee.

Tom I chose to do it in 2 bookings because we are flying at different days & times. It was not that I had to because of the website. There did not seem to be a problem with it whilst I was booking certainly. Cooper I go in July so a bit more expensive but thats a great price.

SUCCESS Thanks to all of you who helped with the trouble over the telephone number - millzer - owe you at least a couple of Efes!! Cooper - thanks - helpful as always. How are you? Even better news. Got so fed up trying to book the tickets, came out of site completely and started over. (In the meantime, had received millzer's advice). On going back into site, the price had come down! So, where we thought we were getting a good deal, got an even better one. Ended up paying the same as Coop. This is miles cheaper than we have ever paid - ever!!!!!!!!!! Thanks again everyone. (A delighted) Jean & Paul

Hi, can anyone answer questions about the "new" website. 1. Do you have to pay for luggage - it appears to say 1 item per person is free and then puts a charge of £8 per bag. Is the £8 for extra bags ( not handluggage) or is it for the first bag? 2. The website prompts you to choose seats for an additional cost - can you book at a lower cost and not choose a seat or do you have to choose a seat? Thanks

Neil, the luggage is for 1 suitcase 20kg & 1 hand luggage. Dont pay extra unless you will be over 20kg, I queried this with Pegasus & they phoned me back, saying the £8 is per kilo excess!!! I have not chosen my seats & paid less, so the answer to your 2 nd question is yes.

| I think the reason it will only take some landline telephone numbers and not others is because it only allows you to enter 11 digits in total 4 in the second box & 7 in the third so if your home number as more than this you will need to enter either your TRNC mobile number as millzer suggested above or enter your UK mobile number. | I have said elsewhere that the Pegasus system is still suffering from problems due to the floods so some odd things might come up. 1] The baggage allowance that is coming up may not be correct. 2] Also mentioned before - the second item of hold baggage charge comes in toward the end of October |

Well I paid for an extra bag at £8.00 so I certainly hope it is NOT per kilo. I don't personally believe it is per kilo i think its per bag coz if I took and extra 20 kilo bag that would cost £160 which at the price i paid could pay for 2 return flights but hey ho if it is its only 8 quid i've lost

I think they are getting confused with excess baggage charge of £8 per kilo if you turn up at check in over weight (cases i mean ) IF the online booking system was for extra baggage at £8 per kilo and not per extra bag why on earth would they do this, as how would you know 6 months or more in advance if you were going to be only 1 kilo over the weight limit, you might as well not bother paying in advance and see what happens at check in!!! In any case I recall phoning Pegasus up last September to enquire if they knew when their spring season flights were to become available, the reply i got was in the February, I questioned this a couple of times and the guy was insistent that it was Feb!!! Two weeks or so later later (sept/oct) they released the flights! Just goes to show that some of the staff at Pegasus now sweet FA

Have booked my tickets for next august, was told that you are entitled to one suitcase of 25kg, one hand luggage at 8kg, if you wanted an extra case, that would cost £8 per case.....

Billy Boy - As I understand it the extra case charge will still be subject to any excess baggage charges as your free allowance is 25Kg (depending on what is on your ticket) Ifd your case weighs up to 32 Kg then you would still be paying excess & at present the luggage handlers will handle it up to that limit.

Tom, not quite sure what you mean there! My ticket (booked yesterday) states hold luggage at 20 KG. I booked and paid £8 for one extra case, so am assuming that my extra case will only be subject to excess baggage charges if I exceed 20 KG in that case, meaning that I effectively have an allowance of 40KG before any excess charges apply. Would you say that this assumption is correct? Or not!

Message 33 = correct my ticket for next year and also for my 2 trips this year stated 20kg for suitcase, both trips this year i was allowed 25kg, and was told on the phone today, that even though my ticket says 20kg for next year, am allowed 25kg for case and 8kg for hand luggage

| When you check in the following rule (taken from Pegasus Terms) will apply “From 25th October 2009, new baggage rules will apply on both domestic and international routes: You may carry one piece of baggage free of charge, but you will be required to pay a charge for carriage of the second piece of baggage even if it is within the total permitted baggage allowance weight.” To me it reads as per Msg 32 If you have bought direct then you are welcome to argue with the airline (not check in who only process the rules). If you have bought from an agent (like IAH / flightholiday) they are bound by the airlines rules and I am sure would interpret them as I have. Please do remember that you are not talking to native English speakers and they might not understand exactly what you do, words or grammar - part of our job at IAH is to try to translate & accommodate these cultural and linguistic differences. | Hi millzer i have also spoken to Pegasus and understand it to be as Tom explained i.e if you have paid £8 for a extra bag the combined weight should still not exceed your allocated weight allowence stated on your ticket. I was also told i must take my tickets showing our weight allowence at 25kg for our trip in October otherwise i may be charged excess at £8 per kilo because the allowence is changing to 20kg. | I still don't get what some of you mean, putting aside the 20 or 25KG argument if I have paid £8 for an extra bag are you now saying that my combined weight allowance will now increase from 20 to 21 kilo's!!!! The extra bag will weigh more than 1 KG in itself!!!!! Crazy. |

Hi all - booked as per Cooper and Millzer on Friday. So, the way I read it is this - putting aside the 20 or 25kg, you can pay an additional £8.00 per bag. However, any additional bags must still fall within your overall weight allowance. In effect, they are charging you for ADDITIONAL BAGS not ADDITIONAL WEIGHT? Now I've typed this, I've confused myself even more J

Cooper and Jean Msg 39 / 40 - that is the way I see it too - life is not a gravy train and they have to recoup some of the losses that the very low fares probably create. As amny of their clients would only need one bag and there is extra handling, ground time etc.for every bag they might see it as a way to level the playing field.

Ok guys yes the penny's now dropped with me too (guess I am just slow ) thanks to Tom, Coops and Jeannie. So at the risk of repeating what Jeaanni has already put very well.....whereas up to now you can take as many hold bags as you like within the weight limit, in future it will only allow ONE bag withing the weight limit and any extra bags will cost an extra 8 quid each but must still be within the weight. What Tom says also makes sense about handling baggage, as this obviously has an 'on' cost in terms of labour if passengers are taking two or three bags instead of one. Cheers

A bit more info you may find useful ,although the website is only showing until next September you can actually book for October too, if you enter the 29th Sept for departure & 30th September for return and then just continue forward with the arrow until you reach you desired dates. I have done this for early October 2010.

They're still around. I managed to get a return at Christmas for £140. and in August for £81. A word for the unwary, though. Some of the discounted flights involve an aircraft change and 2 or 3 hours wait in Istanbul. It might not be obvious unless you look at the seat selection part where it shows the two different flights, or at the itinerary where you might notice the change of flight number and the lengthy wait. Also, at the booking stage, it will either say Istanbul touchdown or Via Istanbul. The direct flights get in at 2055, but the connecting flights arrive at 2250.

Msg 48. You're quite right, airlines NORMALLY will only book 11 months ahead. I should know, I once ran an airline reservations department. However, there are exceptions, and this looks like one of them. To quote from their publicity material. Pegasus, hasn't forgetten its passengers who fly abroad. Don't miss your chance to fly on international routes for just €49,99 for the first 100,000 seats booked online at flypgs.com between 9-19 September to fly betwenn November 2009-November 2010.

With the Rugby World Cup 2011 in NZ dates already announced, one would have thought that the National carrier, Air NZ would be taking reservations. Not a chance, people who run airlines are all a bunch of cowboys! Richard
