Don't knock MM he is a font of knowledge on satellite TV he has been proved correct many times before. He has no pecuniary interest in any system or firm here both in the South or the TRNC. I tend to agree with him, the system that UKTV wishes to sell!! seems to good to be true. Certainly what he is doing seams to be illegal as regards copyright/piracy i suppose the same as Dopi and Digital supreme. That of course is a matter for the purchasers conscience I offer no opinion myself. What would of course be much better would be a monthly payment certainly in the early months to prove the system is stable and will last. personally i will stick to the 4 metre dish, the matter of using SKY outside UK is for my conscience.

I agree with you hippo regarding the ip tunnelling business, don't have a problem with it at all myself. just that what i find annoying is 6m's paints himself as whiter that white, when he clearly is not. oh well back to the Black Pearl for now.

| Just in case you missed the film here is some info: Treasure Island (1950) An innkeeper's son discovers a map leading to notorious pirate Captain Flint's buried loot, and joins a seafaring expedition to find it. However, several of Flint's henchmen are among the crew, and under the leadership of the one-legged cook, they hatch a plan to steal the treasure. | Well dont forget that the "pirate" reference can also refer to your service also...so its a bit silly you continuing this and just goes to show how immature you can be when trying to promote a service on an open public forum. Maybe you should post adverts in the English press rather than on free forums, where many of your replies to questions do make you look silly and less of a desirable service to go to. At least with an advery you cannot offend or make your self look more silly! If you and the owners of the system has invested as much money as you say, the surely newspaper adverts would be much better and get more of an impact. Hippo: see message 89 in the other thread where UKTV answered via email to my question: Is this system legally (ie have permission from the channels themselves) using the UK TV signals? with a "No" |

You lot need to chill out the posts are silly because the whole subject has been turned into a farce and a repeat of the same infromation over and over again by "mmmmmm" over stating his opinion like a dog with a "skull and cross bone" and the only relevant answers after so much fantasy posting by L.J.S are silly or tongue in cheek. If you do not have a sense of humour do not read the thread if you are not interested in our service or "mmmmmm" AKA "Long John Silver" has put you off it then do not buy it, simple really. Other methods of advertising including press, banners & flyers are already been used maybe not in your area yet but watch this space you aint seen nothing yet.

Must agree with james1970. I am impartial in that I don't go to my place in NC to watch the telly,so have no interest per se in sattelite systems. However this long running feud....which has become a farce....does uktvdirect no favours at all. You claim it is all in fun ,but you've been put on the spot and backed into a corner by someone with expert knowledge in the field. You've tried , but you've been caught out. Leave it at that....don't carry on digging....the hole is deep enough. Pathetic attempts to use pirate references by you and your mates/alter-egos do you no favours at all,and would probably steer anyone away from your company who was genuinely interested in a system. Right...that's my 10 Liras worth.......anything good on telly ?

@ Cronos - have a drink and chill - far too serious and grumpy - i am backed into nothing and only at a disadvantage because the service is so new and yet to be proven fully in N.C - wait till a few users on here have had it installed or seen it at a friends house then things will be different. Your so called expert makes loads of errors and keeps tripping himself up and runs a business that allows paying customers to illegaly access UKTV content outside of the UK double standards from Long John Silver as usual. EG: on the other thread he states that you can access SKY subscription content for much less than our service which is rubbish look - The cheapest SKY package available is 17.50 GBP (20€) and as L.J.S keeps saying you need the HD package to receive the channels on a 1,8m dish you would have to add the HD extra charge to this of 9.95 GBP (11.50€) = 31.50€ per month ( NO BBC1,2,3,4, ITV2,3,4) our service works out at 21.00€ per month and has the channels you want.

May i suggest that the moderator shuts this thread now before certain members really drag it into the gutter with the use of vial and unacceptable language. Having a joke & strongly debating a subject is one thing but james1970 has crossed the line of decency and needs reporting & banning.

You might have guessed that no matter what I dont think I'll be going with your system no matter where i decide to move to. A dish and TV direct from the official satellite and in HD will be much better than lineing the pockets of pirates / rebroadcasters / illegal systems no matter how many questions they try to avoid or by slagging off other people in a thread designed to promote their service. Your sales methods are somehting to be desired. You come onto a forum to promote your service, but all questions on a open and public forum are deflected to "ask 6m" or "email us" or "6m is a pirate"..maybe but you are in the same boat or should that be "galleon" Forums are a place to share information and if you are unwilling to do this on an open and public forum then this does show that there is something not correct.

Dear AJ Re: Message 16. Valid point. I do not read the Sun newspaper, but I'm sure you were only trying to make an analogy. MY POINT, as you will have gathered, is that some topics generate HUGE interest. What I do not understand, is when certain moderators, not always you, choose to close threads. I do not require an explanation, nor will I email Izzy asking him why. I am just trying in my cynical way, to try and encourage moderators, to allow threads with HUGE interest to continue. Of course, if there is a VALID reason, by all means close it. On this occasion, I believe, you may have been a little too quick. Only my opinion. On the whole, I think you are a very fair moderator. Regards PC

END of debate on my part as this has indeed now reached a point of no return as far as sensible discussion is concerned. Everyone on here knows where to find us if they want to and yes we will reply to genuine customer enquiries please include your full contact details, telephone numbers and address in the email and we will divert your enquiry to your local installer, enquiries without these details will be deleted. If you do not receive an instant reply it's because we are waiting for an installer to be available in your area and will contact you as soon as one is available so be patient. http://www.uktvdirect.com

"Everyone on here knows where to find us if they want to" Not really as you have not posted an address of telephone number for people to be able to contact you or talk to you directly, and are just a name on the end of an untraceable email account. I was even taught at school to use common sense and "dont trust strangers!". "END of debate on my part" You have said that so many times before, but like most things you say, its bound to be untrue and you will return! OO-ARGH!

I am here you are right but just sat watching you and james typing messages to each other, i find it quite amusing and a little sad that you are so desperate to get a reaction from me that you carry on regardless of the fact that you have nor response to make your efforts worthwhile. I am still not biting and will not respond to unrelated posts that bring no new relevance to the subject matter at all so keep typing messages to each other for as long as you like and enjoy your gay and happy banter with each other. bye

Alsancak Jack. I offer most sincere and humble apologies. You were correct in closing the original post. If Marky does not post, this thread is a waste of time. UKTV v Zerochlor is funny, but as I stated in a much earlier post, Zerochlor CANNOT be related to Stavros, as he (Stavros) went to school with my brother, and still owes him £20. Zerochlor, if related, would pay up on his behalf. Or give me one bottle of Zerochlor! You were so right. Close this post. Please consider a new reason: "The original poster, in his/her wisdom, has requested that as some responses received are too riduculous to warrant the thread continuing"

uktvdirect, Please, please, pleas give it up. You came on here as well as many other sites trying to spout business. You were asked lots of questions by lots of people and have answered very few. Good luck with what you are trying to do, I honestly think you will need it but by attacking all and sundry on here you have not exactly improved your business chances. I felt insulted by association when you started deflamating mmmmmm's wife and past life as if you new anything at all about it. Mark tries to advise people and if requested will offer his products but he doesn't conspire to stop other businesses or try to spout for business. As I said, good luck but please (again) stop trying to be sarcastic and funny, its insulting and obnoxious

O.M.G proger1 - do you want his babies as well ? I did not insult his wife anyway, i wondered why a normal husband would want to post a link to pictures on an open forum of his wife that should be kept private for him and his family only. whats insulting about that ?

The only attacker here is 6m who jumps everytime uktvdirect talks about his uk tv satellite system, when he himself is involved in an ip tunnelling service that aims to do the same thing but using internet instead of satellite. Everyone should be allowed to talk about his service without conflicts.

A question... For those that have left their full correct details on UKTV's website, have you had any further information / an acknowledgement of your request / a phonecall from an installer? If you have, how long had you been waiting? I've heard nothing for 3 days. I know UKTV stated they will get back to us, in turn, but I was just wondering if anyone had heard anything. Thanks. PS. "X Factor" was great tonight. Last guy was the best so far.

Of course I want to have his babies !!! Don't be so ignorant, Mark has always given me good advice wether I wanted to hear it or not and if he wants to have memories of good times with his beautiful wife available to him on an access server wherever he may be that is up to him. That is the purpose of those websites. Nobody as far as I know has seen your system up and running and Mark has more knowledge to question it than most, prove him wrong and he will be the first to acknowledge it but fight tooth and nail and bring insults about him, his life choices and his reasons for choosing his wife are not helping your cause. If you had been around for a while you would have seen that Mark has lots of debates but never one this long about such an easy thing to stop, give the answers and we will all be happier

"if he wants to have memories of good times with his beautiful wife available to him on an access server wherever he may be that is up to him" I agree but to post the pictures on an open forum without a password is more than a little wierd. His questions are structured so that you cannot give an answer and similar questions directed at him also do not get answered and i am sure you will agree if you want ask probing questions of others you should be prepared to answer questions yourself.

"I agree but to post the pictures on an open forum without a password is more than a little wierd" is that not the point of flikr to share pictures so that others can view them? I am sure there are many people who post pictures of themselves and partners on there...as that is what the site is all about? So what is the problem? Do you also think the millions of people who use Twitter or Facebook for posting pictures are also weird? I thnk you have just alienated at least a quater of the globes population there!

This is not about Mark's agendas, double standards or his opinions if he has any. I wanted to know about your system and everything that has been asked you have bluffed your way around in one way or another. I agree with pinkchilli, it must be the end. Maybe I am wrong but then only time will tell. My final point that I hope might assist you in your further endevours, There have been lots of systems and the support is a deciding factor, I am sure that you will have vendors for your equipment here but I for one have no trust and that would worry me about getting your system

An original question: Apart from the answer "it is OK in Spain!" which is not really an answer, why can't the TV channels you are transmitting ask for their channels to be removed from Intelsat, even though what you are doing is in clear violation of international copyright law? What legal documentation can you point potential clents to that says that Intelsat will continue to provide these channels for the next 3 years of the lease agreement and that the channels you are ripping off cannot get them removed? What documentation is there to prove your indentity from copyright violation? I think that is a legitimate question which many would like to know the answer to before investing over 600 euros of hard earned cash for the system, and only a man who is dealing with the provider can answer and that cannot be fobbed off to anyone else to answer.

And if you can provide a pointer to such documentation or then that will solve a lot of issues and arguements about your legitiamcy, and put the doubters (myslef included) to shame. YOu could then go along on your happy way to promote the serive and oif people question it again you just have to point them to the post. Simples.

Post the information / links and its a win win for you. You prove to potential clients your system is stable and here for the long term and noone can stop it, and secondly you win all (ok most) of the arguments posted here.

uktvdirect I think your problem is that people in NC do not miss uk tv so much, even if they are expats. Maybe you should concentrate in other areas like Spain, where the expats community is bigger and people there are really interested in uk tv.

And as many people do not like dealing via a "middle man" I would make better sense for you to post the details of your installers here so people can contact them directly, see who and where their nearest installer is and make their own arrangements. This would help you also, as it would relieve the pressure on your sytem to answer questions from the millions of other people in the other countries you are trying to sell to.

It will not be much use in Spain as there are already many established rebroadcasters in the main expat areas, some who offer free installation and the same if not more channels for €20 per month. And for around the same price (say €700) you can get a decent sized dish and receiver and get many more channels with no monthly subscription, even BBC and ITV HD!

James - i am not trying to be funny or anything but as you have no property in N.C or anywhere else in europe apart from the UK at the moment i do not really understand what your posts are all about anyway. You can post specific questions about any type of tv system that is relevant to where you buy a property when you have actualy bought one but until and if you actualy ever do buy a property anywhere what is the point in wasting your & other peoples time investigating TV systems when you do not even know where you want to buy yet ? I think you should put your efforts into deciding which country is best for you based on schools for your kids, health care & lifestyle before thinking about TV unless of course watching tv is more important to you than your family and standard of life ?

"i am not trying to be funny or anything but as you have no property in N.C or anywhere else in europe apart from the UK at the moment i do not really understand what your posts are all about anyway" And your location is London, says your profile on other sites you are spamming erm promoting so what gives you the right to be on here. I am renting a place in Spain before moving on to Italy and then the east Med, so my questioning is legitimate. I have looked into all sorts of TV systems, especially with the recent issues regarding rebroadcasting here in Spain. And as your system will also be in Spain, why not ask here. And as Turkey and Cyprus are places that I will be coming to in the next few months to look and see if I wauld want to move permanently, I think that I have a right to ask questions on here. A forum is a place for information and asking questions AND GETTING ANSWERS. Which you again have failed to do so.

concentrate on importantant things like your families education and an area that suits your lifestle requirements first, then worry about trivial matters like tv. If you were indeed interested in moving to various areas i am sure that you would have more important concerns first.

thanks for your concern, many of those matters have been dealt with already and much information learnt from HELPFUL forum posts, even ones from a few months even years ago on various forums. So, be useful for a change and ANSWER the questions that so many people would like to hear a decent answer to. Dodgying the questions just make you look more and more stupid and less trustworthy (if it can go so low) and makes the system you are promoting look like what it actually is - a con and not relaible and can go off at anytime and leave people who have spent 600plus on the system without TV. Not many people would buy something for 600plus euros based on "no facts" from a man with a hotmail account, unless some proof or documentation about what he is selling is made available. Obviously no answer to the questions must mean that you cannot provide the documentation and therefore they system is not as well guarenteed as you say it is.

I wonder how DirectTV - a Murdoch company I think, would like the fact you are using their dish and logo on your site to promote UK TV Direct. A bit too similar in names and potential legal issue there...but dont worry as you say you have the best lawyers around!
