North Cyprus Free Press, Sunday 13th September edition is now online at http://www.northcyprusfreepress.com . Quite a lot this week including a name and shame letter from a let down homebuyer.

I'm afraid that the 3cyprus link is currently not working nor is ontheisland.co.uk as the webhost, 1and1, are having problems again. For On The island addicts the website can now be found on the http://www.ontheisland2.com mirror and will stay there from now on just in case problems occur in the future.

Just a suggestion... why don't you publish the Cyprus Free Press BEFORE the 'old fashioned newspapers' (as you call them) are printed?

Re Msg: 4, you said, "Just a suggestion... why don't you publish the Cyprus Free Press BEFORE the 'old fashioned newspapers' (as you call them) are printed?"

It's obvious really, they've got more up-to-date reporters who get paid a wage for the job. Perhaps Yellowbelly you could be one of our reporters bringing us up-to-date news? We rely on the community's input.

Message 5: 'It's obvious really, they've got more up-to-date reporters who get paid a wage for the job'.

Yet in previous threads you have stated you do not lift stories from newspapers.

Is that why you call it the 'Free' Press...?

Hi Firestarter, you said - "Is that why you call it the 'Free' Press," I think the clue is in the cost to the reader. For everyone who is supporting the idea of a free press, thank you and please send us your stories.

I cannot see that these news reports are of any relevance as your link Msg 14 is two days out of date! Is it not updated on a daily basis?

Your pyromaniac tendencies might be well served helping 'Sloan' on the 'Squatter' post but no doubt you'll shrivel up as a dead squid.

Message 14: That's the point Malsancak, not many people are sending you stories and you seem to rely on ripping off the very same newspapers you claim to despise. It does strike me as hypocritical.

Apologies for attending a wedding in the south and not taking my PC with me.

Have you read Google News at all? I don't despise the local newspapers, I'd just like to be there for people who want a little more freedom than those newspapers are possibly allowed. The history of what has happened to those running newspapers which freely express the news in north Cyprus is quite frightening.

Come on you lot, at least write something worth printing instead of these pathetic swipes at an attempt to allow free speech for free.

In view of the lack of political progress in respect of a settlement, the economic stagnation, the inability or unwillingnes of anybody to tackle any sort of "problem" on the Island. What news? It can only be conjecture, what would happen if.... Or Irony .. "shame it didn't happen" sort of "NEWS". Either that or it will be a list of really interesting bits and bobs , like lost dog, found dog, lost cat, found cat,my tree/pot plant's got mildew, no clouds again today. etc. Come on peole something must be happening in this far flung outpost. How about my pool reached 28°C again today. That's exciting isn't it? Or, got p*ssed again last night. Anyone do any better?
