Don't panic to much......Normal service will be resumed ASAP. It has nothing to do with your decoder cards or Sky catching on to you that your not in the UK. It appears that either the Astra 2D and Eutelsat Eurobird 1 satellites have collided or the uplink to these satellites has failed dramatically. The first scenario seems most unlikely and the second more probable. I'm sure those in charge are working hard to get our signals back and claimong lots of overtime working through the night and at a weekend!

According to reports late last night one of the four satellites that carries UK TV, Eurobird1, has suffered some form of failure. Many of the channels on this satellite were unavailable from around 11pm. This will also have affected the signals used by the rebroadcasters. During the night some of the channels came back on line, but there are still some reception issues with many channels...for example a quick check and I can not get moviesformen or zone thriller. As this is an issue with the actual satellite, this is not just affecting Spain, but all countries served by this satellite. Yes even in the UK many channels are unavailable via satellite at the moment.

Hi James, all my movie channels seem to be ok here in the UK - are you sure it's not more of a coding issue, I and nearly everyone I know were sent a new SKY card last week?

Moviesformen is free to air and does not require a viewing card. Looking at DigitalSpy / satellites.co.uk many others have had the same trouble, but channels are slowly coming back on line.

Channels were definitely down last night here in the uk. For example sky sports showing the us tennis final was intermittent for around an hour and a half from around 11pm uk time
