I looked into this last winter and found the squat portable paraffin heater as effective, cheaper to run without taking all the humidity out of the air.

Where can you purchase the paraffin heaters and about how much? I will need either a gas or paraffin heater when I get back at the end of October.

You can buy the gas heaters at the electric shop next to Sevener on the main road, or from their other shop next to the curtain shop in town. They are a very nice family and they will not rip you off, we have had quite a lot off them including a gas heater, dont know if they have had them in this year yet but worth a try.
