You should check the Northern Cyprus boards for this house (some 4-5 years) ago, which was "won" (after a bl**dy lot of problems) and which was never build or given to to the winner. Don't be blind or stupid, people. Don't get mixed up in scams.

P.S. The builder of the won "house" (4-5 years ago) left the island and now lives happily in England. The tears are here.

This house was not won - I know the owners - they built it theirselves and only want to sell it because they want to go back to Germany.

to be honest, this did work in austria and also in germany in the last 2 years, it started in the uk.. it could work also in trnc - if the house is finished and if serious people are behind this action - and all is transparent. But, it wonders me, the house is worth 300 000 euros. They will try to sell 10 000 lottery tickets for each 79 euros.. so, basic maths: 79 x 10 000 Euros is 790 000 euro. Not a bad deal. I dont know the company in the freeport - I have no clue. so this should not make the deal bad or good. just my view.

BTW: I am doing the same. The only condition is: All 10 000 tickets must be sold for the lottery. If not, it just wont happen (prob I give you back your money). If all tickets are sold - I will build the best house in TRNC ever seen.. (worth 500 000 Eu - 200 000EU for my pocket) A ZERO Energy House - Energy Globe Awarded http://kibsolar.com/content/eng/eg2006.html

Anyhow, its a joke from my side but who knows. anyone intrested in sendig me 80 Euros?? Have

the house worth 300 000 Euros but the lottery will not happen unless they sell 6999 tickets.. mh.. Thats 552,921Euros. worth of ticket sells.. Anyhow.. dont think thats a con as everything seems ok, but thats 150 000 - 200 000 to much for the house. Thats a point I dont agree with.. Good luck, viel Glück. Anyhow. What about my offer?

Been on the Dutch gin tonight? I haven't even tried to write a French word this evening! Kantara now says she is not involved but providing information about, what I perceive to be another great scam. All monies go into a trust, so name and provide all contact names and numbers of the trustees, please! I think this will not happen. Why? IT'S A SCAM!

You are absolutely right about us british and the language thing Dutch but there are reasons why we don't speak other languages unless we chose to.

1/ We are on an island which only has 1 modern language but about 50 dialects that are hard enough to follow for most.

2/ English is the international language for the most part and we get taught French as a second language for a short period and no other choices until we prove our aptitude for French.

3/ We are just to self obsessed with being important that we would rather fight with each other than learn to understand others.

I could probably tell you that in german although badly but as I never had any education on German literacy, only vocab in my local bar but it would be nigh impossible for me to write it down.

I have endevoured to learn what I can of the native language of wherever I have been but for short periods that is not easy. Does it make me a bad person ???

Lilli,

Thanks. I speak English (Badly), Doric (Terribly, if you ask my mother), Russian (Malinki gavaroo), german (bissien) and touches of others but I am nowhere near the colloquial standards of the likes of DC and many other Europeans but I tip my hat to them. I try to speak russian and end up throwing german words in now and again through confusion so trying to speak the languages to their standards and be able to write then is well impressive.

You and many others may be right about the fact that this is a scam but people either will or won't fall for it however the poster, Kantara might for a change just have been genuinely trying to help and as usual got shot down for it. Happens a bit too much lately on the forum for my liking hence my lack of posts recently, there are a few too many people on here that it seems would ratrher lea all over someones posts without knowing a thing about them. Sad but true I'm afraid

That's why I advised freinds not to use the forum, wrongly maybe

As I said Richard, you are most probably correct but I was just trying to point out that so many times people get jumped on for giving what they believe is good advise, in this case it may well be deserved but when it comes to scams you can never be sure these days, after all I have eevry confidence that the $5000 I just sent Prince Umbugodoo of Nigeriastan to free up that 236,000,000 GBP he is going to split with me 50/50 is money very well invested.

Wow. What an interesting reaction. I can fully appreciate how many people feel having been ripped off but I was not truly aware of the vehemence that this has generated. I suppose that since my family ( London Cypriots) were ripped off in 1985, long before any of you lot, that the feelings of anger have subsided enough for me to think about trusting strangers again.

My reading of the situation is this . Some ex-pats, no doubt fed up with "friendly" Northern Cyprus have decided to decamp, and go home. They are putting up their home in a lottery. They appear to want to make a profit. SO WHAT?. Our "Risk" is 80 Euros. A lot of money but not enough for a weeks shopping in Lemar. A big plus point for these guys is the fact that they do not appear to be Cypriots, Brits or Turks. For all of whom I have the greatest admiration but would not trust as far as I could throw them. I also want to make a fast buck and so I will buy TWO tickets. Who knows. I might even win.

Good morning.

I don’t want to talk again about the house lottery because with sending this link I only wanted to help a friend who thinks this is a legal way of selling his house.

If the system will work – I don’t know – I only know that I did not do anything bad.

But I would like to express how much these kind of answers made me feel sad.

I am living and working here nearly 20 years together near to my Cypriot family and I am a member of this board since 2,5 years.

I think when Izzet started with Cyprus44 his concept was to help people who loves North Cyprus with advices and bring people together who wants to learn something about our island.

That was the reason for me to sign up.

Off course I am in the lucky position that I don’t have the problems with the paperwork for all the permissions for living and working here.

But I tried to help with small things and answered many mails which members wrote to me.

I never assent that English is my mother tongue and I did not

know that I am going to be blamed for it.

I don’t understand why somebody offends me just for giving a kind of information to this board.

I feel sorry that we don’t talk about contents but get personally offended.

Now you can count all the grammatical errors, put them into a pot and let’s make a raffle out of it! Hopefully this will be legal!

And for the people who are really interested in Cypriot culture: Nil Burak is one of our most splendid singers from North Cyprus. Not Sophia Loren.

Take care

can you please tell me what if in 1 month all tickets are not sold, and if in 12 months all tickets are not sold, will there be a given date to draw this lottery if all tickets are not sold, will it be a gamble also on the ticket sellers side, example,if only 4577 tickets are sold after 1 year, would this lottery be drawn?or is the gamble just 1 sided?OUR GAMBLE?

There must be a break off point to when the lottery must be drawn, otherwise knowing this island it could go on for years.

Right, i would like to say a few things about house raffles. I know a little about this subject as i was going to do this with my own house...completely legitally...

First, you can ONLY conduct a raffle providing you go through a charity...this is the law!

When and if you find an agreeable charity (you agree an amount for the house, and all extra monies go to the charity) you then have to find an accountant who sets it up, then you go to the belediyesi where they print off the tickets.

It didn't work for me because the charity i approached said after the house price has been reached, they didn't think it would be worth their time....they wanted to be assured of quite a lot before they would put their name on it. So, my house wasn't worth their time or energy, and i was assured that all charities would feel the same way.

@ zerochlor: read message 8 and 11.. for the time table, drawing is one month after the point where all tickets are sold or after one year (oct. 2010) if more than 6999 tickets are sold..

Hello @ALL

I have found nearly all informations on the homepage:

If you want you can follow the link -> Terms and conditions

You will find informations about:

1. Subject of the raffle

2. Registration number and trustee

3. Conditions of participation

4. Number of raffle tickets / chances of winning

5. Raffle ticket price

6. Date of raffle draw

7. Reversal of contract

8. Issue of raffle ticket number

9. Drawing the entry number

10. Informing the winner

11. Delivery of possession and transfer of ownership of the subject of the raffle

12. Costs and fees

13. Data protection etc.

I hope it will help.

Andy

P.S.: I will buy a ticket and I only help to find 6998 other people to do the same. ;-)

P.P.S.: And I hope you understand my bad and broken English, I'm a German.

By the way - Germans are good for this, too.

Sorry for my bad English, but I'm just a German car mechanic.

Having had a look at the website, I can't find what title the property has. Is it 'exchange' and thus why the current occuppiers can''t sell and having to resort to this lottery? As a a matter of interest I read in the UK press recently of a £3million pound house being sold in exactly the same way.

@Hector

It's a good question... I think it is a Turkish title... I will ask him and will let you know.

The same thing happened a few years ago in the TRNC the owner sold 500 tickets at £20 each then had it away on his toes as did his brother who was the advocate on the sale. The winner of the raffle moved into his new house the water ran out, the building fell down (dodgy builders) the bank re-possessed the land (mortgage) Then to add insult to injury he was met by a guy on a bike called Cypriot Nick who claimed this was his lemon grove back in 1774 and he had come for his land and compo.

This could never happen just fantasy or is it ?????????

Perhaps we also have a new title to add to 'exchange', 'army', Turkish' being 'Walt Disney'

Hi @ALL

At first, yesterday I had to wrote with an old nic from my wife, because I could not sign up yesterday.

Aratnak = Andyman

Now I have my own nic...

***************************

I promised to inform you about the title:

The owner of the house informed me that it is a Turkish title. The land was purchased in 1980 by a Turk from the Evkaf and he bought it from him.

@Hector

I know the plot. You're right, it's so beautiful there. It could come from a wonderful Walt Disney film. ;-)

Andy, the flame of stupidness is hopefully burning high for short time. So lets look at the glimmer:

Why not gambling with EURO 80 ? You can't loose more than it, but you can win with a very good

quote.

In case of the hazzle being quit you get EURO 75 back.

This not a bad game. Ask the Christian Churches - they got a 2000 year old history of scam and murder - and the the only thing they gave back was warm farts hidden by dark clothes.

Again - please don't feel bothered by my bad English, I try my best.

Regards,

Rene

Hans, nochmal jetzt: Könnt ihr keine Gulden mehr in Euro tauschen ? Hast Du noch D-Mark ?

Vielleicht können wir da was machen ?

Gruß

5.1. The price of one raffle ticket is € 79,00 (in words: sixty-nine Euros)

Hmm is it 79 Euros or 69 Euros.

Good news:

Our chances to win has become mutch better on

http://www.hausverlosungonline.eu/

The owner of the house has reduced the maximum number of lots from 9999 to 6999 and the minimum Number from 6999 to 4999!

May be he learned some thing...
