Hi Kav As you correctly surmised, the $ signs mean it is a scrambled pay tv channel... If you use it as a holiday home, why don't you get SKY at home ( UK) and fit a 1.8m dish and bring the SKY card out -leaving a SKY receiving out in CY ? WHY pay for a sub in CY when you can use it in the UK and CY ? Just a thought..

mmmmmmm ive got sky at home ,but not hd . i have multi room so could bring a box out no problems ,what would approx cost of 1.8mtr dish and can it be installed to say 2 or 3 people ? when all said is there a way you can either buy a pay per view card package each year to unlock more channels. or have dish alligned away from hotbird ,but to some where else if a better option perhaps? kav

Dear Sporty re msg 6 >>if i take over a spare skybox and the card, your saying with a 1.8m dish i'd be able to use sky?<< YES.. I'd recommend Iceman.. as pointed out - to fit you one of his 1.8m ! You WON't get BBCs1-4, but you will can ITV ( needs tuning) and most SKY stuff.. IF you can use a HD box the HD signal is stronger - so C4 is more reliable You can also get any BBC sports stuff via News 24 - the press the red button .... e.g Grand Prix ( f1) Snooker, Wimbledon........ you'll be able to listen to Radios 1-4 ( not 5 .. you need a 4.2m for that) and SO much more.. Lastly,.. I DO have a life away from CY44 - esp at weekends...!! ;)

Re msg 7 Kav >>what would approx cost of 1.8mtr dish and can it be installed to say 2 or 3 people ?<< Please call Iceman.. each location needs a site visit before a quote.. YES, you can share the feed - using a multi switch setup within an apartment / development... this makes sense to get a 4.2m, but if runs are long / complex - might not make so much financial sense for a 1.8m.. >>when all said is there a way you can either buy a pay per view card package each year to unlock more channels. << On SKY, no.. I recommend having a Nilesat dish ( 1m - don't accept smaller - you see what I mean - if it rains) and 'putting up' with the free stuff on there - should be enough for hols.. The BEST soln for Eng speakers is a 4.2m - of course, but a good compromise is the 1.8m - IF you have a SKY sub... If not, Nilesat.. or have dish alligned away from hotbird ,but to some where else if a better option perhaps?

Hi Kav NP Hotbird has so many packages.. but *I* prefer showtime arabia - if you want a family orientated Eng speaking package - on Nilesat .. Hotbird has more stuff .. but not targeted at eng speakers - but if you are into Adult content.. )) .. it's the one to have ! ...I believe ...
