I know someone who wants to bring a cat to TRNC from Abu Dhabi. They have asked about boarding it in a cattery for 6 months until they can come over themselves. I know about the quarantine period, and that you have to go every day to Lefkosa to look after pets - not sure how they can get around this if they are not coming themselves though. Does anyone have experience of bringing a cat, or know of a cattery that could board the cat for 6 months? Also any ideas as to whether such a cattery would provide the 'caring for' service at quarantine.

Thanks

Do the cats need to be quarantined for a full six months in TRNC even if they have had their blood tests completed and certified?

Also found this. May help.

Turkey accepts internationally recognized health certificates as proof of health for pets. Unless there is an acute emergency, quarantine is not required.

However, if you want very specific information, your contacts in Turkey could ask to the government agency, if you send them the address here below:

TARIM ve KÖYİŞLERİ BAKANLIĞI Koruma ve Kontrol Genel Müdürlüğü, KKGM - Akay Cad. No:3 Bakanlıklar/ANKARA Tel: (00 90)-312-4174176

Dont know if the same rules apply on the Island.
