http://www.infowarriors .co.uk/#/life-in-the-eu/4534000400 The UK Independence Party will be banned under the 1999 ruling of the European court of Justice case c274/99, where it was held that it is illegal to criticise the EU. There will be no redress through local democracy because there won't be any. The nine UK regional governments, which replace our 48 counties and councillors, will be unelected (see the European Regionisation plan). Our only vote is to the powerless EU parliament. We will be ruled by the 25 unelected Commisssioners, and have have no redress at any level; we will be as poor but have less freedom than Soviet Citizens. The Conservative, Labour and Lib-dem parties will be abolished (only pan EU parties like the EPP or PES are allowed -see clause I.46.4 of the EU Constitution). It will then be blindingly obvious to even the dumbest politician there is no reason to keep Westmister open, and that the EU has the legal right to close it. The EU takes ownership and

I dont care. I have no say in what goes in UK anyway! An election every 5 years where I can vote for either of 2 parties neither of whom cares about Joe Average. The country that has the least to do with Europe ,dislikes it the most, and tries to impede it most, funnily enough ,has the worst quality of life in Europe. Wonder if thats because of reasons like the opt out of the working hours directive, so that we could have the "right" to work for 60 hours a week . I see we are having trouble ,now that we have to implement it,in running the country with people like doctors. unable to work more than 48 hours. Or is it because after Brown lecturing EU like a teacher, on the best way out of recession ,we find we are just about the only country still IN recession. If we were in EU 100 years ago we would be seeking an opt out to allow little kids to go down chimneys,on the basis that its the childrens freedom of choice thats being affected.

RE msg 2, lapta 29: your rabiate anti-EU stance is known. But allow me a question. If you're so pro-UK, why do live here, in Lapta, TRNC? The risk of living in a new EU country (TRNC, 201x) is more than 50 % (imo)! Do you really mean to say that the EU is a bigger mess than the UK..?!

DC. Yes, the eu is in the biggest mess of ANY country on this globe. How many years is it since the yearly accounts of the eu was signed off by by the auditors, 10,12,14? I forget how many. Furthermore you have lost your voting rights, your national identity, your heritage and swapped them all for tyranny and dictatorship which you never voted for and never will because a dictatorship doesn't allow voting. In any case what party would you vote for? There is only one, the eu party! So your national government has disenfranchised you, as my government has me We are both in the same boat, but the difference between us is that I can see where the boat is going and you can't. I think that answers your question. All the best to you.

It is nearly six months to April the first.. |

lapta29 Yes there is corruption in the EU as there is in the UK. Where does one go to escape it? As for being disenfranchised, only about a third of younger people were bothered enough to vote anyway,so not an issue there. But the greatest benefit has been the fact that for 60 years the people of EU have avoided slaughtering each other, with the exception of non EU Yugoslavia. The interconnecting of industry and raw materials make war impossible. The Common market was started with the common coal and steel treaty instigated by France ,and was primarily designed to make future war, after 3 crippling wars with Germany in 70 years , impossible ever again. It was no accident that Coal and Steel were chosen. Its an ideal that has been tarnished and can do with a good clean up,but still a better model than most.

RE msg 12, Rev: (...) If DC loves the EU so much why is he here? (...) => Try some Googling: I *AM* in the EU. Awaiting a solution of the Cyprus Issue the Dutch government - as an example - doesn't want to damage the life of (the few) Dutchmen in TRNC: my Dutch national health insurance is valid here. How about the NHS and TRNC? And it's not about my love for the EU: I believe that it's the ONLY way to keep the peace in Europe. Plus a lot of other pros that has been discussed on this board before. The UK sabotage of the political, economical etc development of the European continent is too long a list to mention here. But one thing is for sure: the EU can do without the UK, but without the EU the UK would most probably be a third world country now. P.S. Some British people here seem to think the UK *IS* already in a sorry state of affairs...
