Those Present - Me, My scrubs up well Missus, Garry Monger, Garry Monger's Missus. Comments: Well we've all tried "Hot Chick" and found it identical to KFC, we've tried "Burger City" and found it identical to Burger King - so surely "Big Mac's" has got to be identical to Macdonnalds, hasn't it ? Well read on..... So we rock up to Big Mac's - Garry Monger's Missus can't quite decide if she should have one Big Mac meals of two.... Having seen the prices - she decides on one - a whopping 12.50 TL for a Big Mac, fries and small diet cola.... Obviously this is TRNC fact food, so we have to wait while they cook it.... Five minutes later the tucker arrives - Macdonalds it ain't - the burgers are ok, but a country mile from the offerings at Burger City. Then something happened that i've never seen in twenty years of knowing the Mongers - half way through a burger, Mrs M threw it down and said "you know what, these burgers are apauling" - cont/d.......

My "chicken" burger was just as bad - Ronald Mcdonald would turn in his grave if he could see what they were churning out...... Overall - i think i'd rather have Garry Monger's Missus fall on top of me from 5 metres than return there.... A Neg Nick 4 / 10 (only because the fries were ok).....

Can you answer a question for my husband who is a 'Mackers' Strawberry Milk Shake addict - he was filmed last year crossing the border to satiate his voracious appetite for thdese items, available only, according to him, in the Real Mackers. Does Big Mac, the pseudo Mackers (sorry Australian for MacDonalds) have milk shakes anything like the ones south of the border, or didn't anyone get around to trying those? We were booked to sally forth to Lefkosia to try the place that looks like the entrance to the Paris Metro, but why waste the petrol .

mess 9 - Marie, we didn't try them, but if they are anything like the "burgers" then i'd give them a wide birth... The real McDonalds is only a 2 min walk from the Ledra St crossing - you don't need a car or expensive car ins and you can park on the North side at no cost and only be a 2 min walk to the border....

Thanks 'Nick' - we know the 'real' one well, and I agree that it is a cheap crossing, but, share your secret of parking at no cost. I can never find anywhere. Do you know something Idon't???? My beloved doesn';t walk too well too far, so need to keep the energy for actually crossing over. The other problem is that our dog always goes with us, and we need to leave her in the car, so need to feel the car is parked safely. Any advice would be REALLY appreciated. Thanks.
