The end of another day, seems I'm in a poetic mood..! =================================== The hill-fortresses of Northern Cyprus... "Buffavento stands higher and St. Hilarion can show more perfect ramparts and turrets, but neither recalls so strangely a forgotten age, neither seems so thickly peopled wits ghosts, as this lonely ruin on its pillar of rock, the superb castle of Kantara. Seeming to hang in mid-air, it dominates this end of lovely North Cyprus..." Location: http://is.gd/4jsQv Picture: http://is.gd/4jutX Again I realise why I left Holland!

I've seen shooting stars only twice in my (longish) life. First time, a couple of years ago, sitting on our balcony, quite late at night. More recentlly outside a restaurant in K-oglu - magical. Despite all the over-building, etc.etc. you can, at times, experience 'perfect peace' Chico - exactly!

RE msg 6, scoobydoo: (...) there are no hills in Holland!!! (...) => Oh? Clogs, tulips and no mountains? Another myth! In the Southern part of the tiny Kingdom of the Netherlands we have the "Vaalser Berg" (Vaals Mountain), which climbs 300 metres towards the sky. Errm, 330 yards looks better, I think... While starting my military service (1963) we had to run to the top of the bl**dy "mountain" every morning - omg how I hated this Vaalser Berg...
