msg 2; AlexFO65, Do you think that because we live here, which, according to your profile, you don't, we have no interest in news from UK?. Why do you think UK newspapers are so expensive here? because expats buy them to keep in touch with "home". There's a simple solution to your "problem", ignore the postings you don't agree should be on this forum. Tony

AlexFO65 In principle, I would agree with your comment: "Asking people of colour to join the BNP is like getting turkeys to vote for christmas I would have thought" However, there must be many minorities in the UK that are unhappy and possibly embarrassed about how their community is behaving or even portrayed. This could lead them to want to have a say, even in a racist party like the BNP. To give you an analogy. If I was a Turkey and I was able to have a vote for Christmas, as long as I could change the vote slightly so that it read "would I, as a Turkey, vote for Christmas, as long as I, as a Turkey, would be spared and only the "old birds" were eaten?" The answer would be YES, as long as I was a young, fit bird! Enough talk about Turkeys and more about young, fit birds. Yes, I know, next year I may not be a young, fit bird, but then I would change the vote, again! As young, fit birds, were more tasty.

Dear AlexFO65 re msg 2 IF you are living somewhere in CY and you aren't Cypriot, I reckon one is a guest... one may earn / be granted citizenship, in time. If one has kids on the island - I reckon - if they are kids of legally resident parents, THEY are Cypriots, too SAME should apply to the UK.. so, what if a local political party told YOU / your kids "you couln't join" - because you aren't a 'local' not of the same colour / ethnicity as the majority of folk ..? SOME, in the BNP would like to offer a package of 'repatriation' ... I'm trying to think if members would appreciate that- having resided in CY, and perhaps becoming citizens.. only to be told - you ain't wanted.. go home.. THAT is why I posted the article.. and thanks to Bill for posting the link.. it was only a 'news ticker' bar when I found it .

Richard/Msg 7: Richard, in the Antipodes the word 'roots' certainly has bi-cultural connotations!
