Yesterday, by coincidence, we met the gentleman who produces the wood bricketts that we used last winter for our burner and saw where they are made. They are easy, light, clean and smell wonderful. If you give him a call he will give a 10% discount and deliver free if you buy an amount from him.

He also produces the most gorgeous coloured (or natural) wood and bark chippings for the garden. I so wish I'd seen it before we put our gravel down.

Based in Lapta, you can call him on 0533 861 7438. He is called Mustafa. Very interesting, helpful chap. He is trying really hard to get some recognition for his environmental efforts.

Hi Nick

Im not sure which ones you know, I have only seen these, they are made up from every kind of tree, twig leaf. They are mulched down, dried out and hard pressed. If you give Mustafa a call I'm sure he will be happy to show you. Very nice guy.

Top ten, I guess they will burn anywhere, again, Mustafa is the man who knows.

We visited him yesterday on something unrelated and were so impressed with his set up I thought I'd pass on the info.

Hi Rachel

For prices you'll have to call Mustafa and ask. He does natural wood, red and yellow. Not Brash colours, very subtle.

Give him a ring and he'll be happy to show you.

Where abouts in Lapta would we find Mustapha's place? We would like to call in and buy some bags of briquettes. Thanks. Linda

We have a wood burner and last year we had some eco briquettes but they burned really fast. I was told there are slow burning more compacted ones anyone know the name of them. Could Mustaphas be them?

Snaefell..

From Karsiyaka. 1st turning for Lapta after 'Zekis' Bar. Along on the left hand side, past the house painted green, you will see a fenced off area and big metal gates. Park up or drive in if the gates are open. Or Ring up first (english spoken).

Mint 1955...

You probably know but, once the fire is going, cut the air supply right down and they last for ages. Top up with pine cones (Free!) and they really kick out some heat!

Found briquettes to be great for "kindling" but too expensive to use instead of logs as they burn so fast.

Get a good fire going with the briquettes and then switch to logs.

Wouldn't the bark chippings just get blown away in the wind?

Would love logs but we are only there for a few weeks, if that, in fire needy weather so we cant really get a delivery as we would never use them and also no storage. We will collect the pine cones though and get better at the air supply changing.
