I've been contacted from someone who has rented out their property using Remax and would appreciate any comments about the company if you have used them in the past. Mal

Remax is a propriatery name and the agents in Girne and Famagusta are two completely different entities. My impression is that they know nothing about the relevant laws and they do not know what the clients are in for. The trouble begins when the rent agreement is overdue and the tenant does not leave. Even worse when they take the posession of the keys and stop and further payments. ismet

Ah, thanks for that Ismet. That confirms the email I received at NCFP. It looks as if when tenants, as an example, default on the rent and take all the furniture away then there is little that a company such as Remax in Girne can/will do. The issue I'm hearing about seems also to suggest that the police and a legal firm are in the same position. Ismet, have you any comments which could be used in an article on the subject of renting out your villa? I suppose that if you wanted to write a short article for http://www.northcyprusfreepress.com .... well I have to ask. Mal
