Can anyone tell me if beta blocker tablets can be bought over the counter here or is a doctors prescription required.

Yes, no prescription needed but take the empty packet with you so they can convert to the Turkish equivalent.

If there's a "generic" available try to get that as they are much cheaper than named brands. It's not alays possible but worth a try!

To be precise...

The most common 'beta blocker' Atenolol is freely available, on demand, with no prescription required,at ANY pharmacy (Eczane).

The brands vary, but are (as far as I am aware) all the same price for the same 'strength' and quantity.

For example - a pack of 28 x 50mg Atenolol Branded 'Actavis' (made in Barnstaple!! ) cost 1.89 TL
