| Quite a good set of guidelines in msg 6. However, if Cyanuric Acid (CYA) exceeds recommended level, effectiveness of chlorine will start to fall. At Cyanuric Acid level of 100ppm or more the chlorine strength should be 7.5% of the CYA level. e.g. CYA = 150ppm. 7.5% of 150 = 11.25. Chlorine level should be 11.25ppm I often hear from people who have "the correct level" of chlorine in their pool but it still goes green. You may have 3 or 4 ppm chlorine in your pool but if your CYA is too high, your pool WILL still go green. |
