Have just recieved a text from a friend who is currently in the TRNC to say that according to the papers a few thousand electric meters have arrived on the Island. So here's hoping if it's true we might have electricity by the time we go bakc over at the end of June. Yipee. Sue and Dave

Have you ever turned up at your place in TRNC in the middle of the night only to find the fuse has been nicked and spent the next day queueing at Kibtek to "buy" another fuse at an exorbitant price only to be told that you can't take the new fuse away with you, but must wait for an "electrician" to come round and fit it? If this has happened to you and you don't want it to happen again, or you don't want it to happen to you, contact vaughan@sunnycyprus.net for the solution.

Was in Kib Tec on Thursday trying to sort out another problem. We have to go back on Monday and they said we will sort out the fitting of our meter then. Only thing is, they tend to fit the meters where you are on deals first, then those on Builders Electric that have not got meters. We are on Builders!!

| So what about the ones who currently have no electricity and are using generators when we visit. We paid our deposit last time we were over at the reduced rate ( thank goodness for Turkish connections) and now just need the meter. Is it worth while trying to contact Kibtec by phone to enquire? | Well to be quite honest Kibtec were very polite and helpful when I was last in there, so perhaps it would be nice occassionally to try and be positive about the services provided in the TRNC. |

re: kibtek meter delays do they appreciate that running three airconditioners during summer and electric heaters full blast in the winter will leave them out of pocket? dont they know its xmas? (sorry wrong thread) no seriously I have found cypriot and turkish people very helpful and charming and it is always worth remembering the person you are dealing with may not be the one in any way responsible for the cock-up andre
