AJ you are a decent guy. I know this for a fact. BUT.... You close threads that have incredibly high "hits". Are these of no interest to you? You close threads that have gone "off topic". But you contribute to them going off topic. This is not a witch hunt, but if a Premiership referee, or a test match umpire got a higher than average negative result, they may be required to re-train, or at the very least, be made aware of their actions. Please take this as a positive critisism as no other Mods, IMO receive as much "stick" as you. I do not want you to give up, I just want you to behave a little more like the other Mods. Best regards PC. A note for No1. Please leave this topic open for at least 10 mins. Thanks.

"high Hit threads" should be automatically shut off once they hit 50 or 60 - if its still a burning issue, someone can go again... Just my tenpenny worth - but i'm usually right....

When a thread becomes a jumbled mess which is rambling on in different directions it should be closed. More should be closed not less

Most of them are clueless anyway.. what else can you expect when they are all recruited randomly or from a recommendation. You just have to go with the flow, because although they are brain-dead, along with half of the forum, they still run it and can ban us. We cant win.

Guys, guys, guys. I do not want this topic to be turned into a slanging match. The Mods will close this down. No 1. Please open a new topic to discuss your situation. This is not about one thread. (Blimey, I sound like a Mod!) I know that the above members may agree with me. I also appreciate that as a percentage of the membership, it is probably, so minute to be irrelevent. But, can AJ, or another Mod, or even Izzet, please comment. If the comment is sensible, it can be discussed openly. You have nothing to gain, by either closing this thread, or keeping silent. Regards PC

Bill, you're going to have a field day today. Did you ever ban ALL posters in a thread except yourself..? "FORUM RULES. Rule 4. Respect The Forum Admins Forum admins have the final word. If you have a problem or a complaint, email Izzet off board. Do not post it on the board. Forum admins do not need to explain their actions. Do not complain about this." Bye all! See you back in a month or so...

Rule 4. it sounds like a cypriot rule or turkish cypriot rule,if im wrong read my rules and obey them,or i shall ban you.you must play ball our way or no way,you all know cyprus is a 1 way road. if im wrong and dont want to answer a question, rule 4 comes into play, because im a mod. if you dont like this, then post or go to another forum. wonderful rules to say the least.

The first thing I need to say is that the following comments are my own, not "policy" or an official line. The reason Izzet appointed Mods other than himself was because the board was "invaded" by a couple of very unsavoury characters who were downright obscene in their postings. One person can't possibly keep a watch over the forum 24/7 Now I could ban several posters on this thread for contravention of forum rules but I won't because what people write about me on an internet forum really doesn't bother me personally but I would support any of the other mods if they took exception. What possible addition to the "debate" does labelling people you have never met "brain dead" PC you say that AJ takes more stick than any other mod, well have you considered that along with No.1 Doyen (Bill) he is the most active, i.e. gives up more of his time to help the forum operate? Rule No.4 predates the inclusion of additional mods. It could be viewed as a convenient rule to hide behind,

Come on guys - get real!! It's a forum for christ's sake. Everyone has an opinion - and is entitled to state their opinion, subject to the rules. The rules are the rules, the Mod's didn't make them! Why keep having a 'pop' at the Mod's all the time? We're trying to do our best. Threads do get shut down and people get banned. It's done for a reason though, we don't get a kick out of it.

but have a think about an alternative point of view. This forum raison d'etre is to provide a place where people with an interest in TRNC can discuss matters of interest to them. (Note in my opinion that doesn't just mean matters strictly pertaining to TRNC). Arguements about the way the board is moderated are hardly going to be interesting to all and if the forum was full of such threads it would quickly lose its functionality and interest. You have the solution, it is contained in the rule itself, email Izzet or a moderator off the board. Only if you feel the need for public approbation is anything served by posting on the board itself. As a volunteer moderator I can assure you all that I don't do it for some power kick, if I was that way inclined I have plenty of people at work I could order around, but what I have noticed is that personally I actually contribute less than I would like because of my mod status.

I express my respect and support for the work of *all* Forum Admins, although I do not always agree with *all* decisions. Why can't we all just give up this bitching over and over again? If you don't like it leave it.

Anyone can email me and if work pressure allows I will debate that black is white with them, just not on the forum! Harold |

Crikey, its only a forum, nobodys going to get killed, or take offence to such do they? or am I to believe that folks on here are that very narrow minded? I dont think so. No1 is doing a great job as well as the others, (its AJ I'm really scared of, help) he might be reading this! Its not really a job, but an occupation for therapy of the mind!! (others). .....And a thankless job. xx

No 1. Re message 22. pinkchilli. "No 1. Please open a new topic to discuss your situation." What do you mean - "my situation" I mean you could have emailed "Eager" as this was a private matter, albeit, started by Eager. I simply did not want this topic being hijacked by others, including the Mods.

You stated: PC you say that AJ takes more stick than any other mod, well have you considered that along with No.1 Doyen (Bill) he is the most active, i.e. gives up more of his time to help the forum operate? Fair point Harold. However, I made other points, including: You (AJ) close threads that have incredibly high "hits". Are these of no interest to you? And... You (AJ) close threads that have gone "off topic". But you contribute to them going off topic. |

pinkchilli. Eagers post had some relevance though given that it was about closing threads. I did'nt see it as a 'private'. The thread is about closing threads, is'nt it? There are lots of posts on here that are 'private' though and could be dealt with by emailing the person directly. So I do agree on that point.

I think it's about time we stopped giving the forum admin such a hard time. Do remember why we have them, because we asked for them. Okay some new posters may say they never asked for them, but in that case they were here when you joined the forum, so live with it. I applaude them not decry them. Oooops I just fell off my soap box Paul

I have just had a look at the last 8 or 9 "closed" threads and quite honestly the mods have in my opinion nothing to answer for. All those threads either got out of hand or were just twaddle.

No 1, The thread that was closed in 1 hr 18 mins was one posted by britvic. I then posted asking why it was that you closed it after such a short time and lo and behold you had cheek to not only close my thread but also took away the title of it and inserted the word ..closed.. so that nobody could then see what i had to say or indeed find out what the thread was about. Neither thread was rude nor offensive in any way but you took it upon yourself to be judge and jury. It is not your job to suppress freedom of speech just because you think that after such a short time " It serves no purpose ".
