I note this has recently been discussed on £1500 Electric meter BUT still nobody has actually stated where to get these fuses from apart from Kib Tek at £60. My parents had theirs 'borrowed' while they were not in residence and Kib-tek charged 50ytl to come out and reconnect them with wire. If the case is now they must have a fuse I assume they will fit the fuse in the £60 therefore making the actual fuse £40 but people have mentioned £2 £4 on the internet or buying them in the south but still to date no actual contact. My parents were told by an electrician in the uk the fuses in the uk were not the same size and they would have to be tweaked and that's why we called in Kibtek.

Thanks for your help and yes the carrier was taken as well and after checking with my parents this is the object which is slightly different and requires a little bit of tweaking. something i do not fancy doing with electric

I think it will be a case of securing the meter box so nobody can see how its connected. At the time we were prepared to pay for the fuse but as Kib-tek themselves did the wiring we have assumed it is safe.

I had 3 bought over from a friend in the UK as we had a spate of thieves only after the fuses never took the black casing, but I was told if you bought them here they were around £20 but we now have them screwed down and wire round them

You can buy them at Sert Eletrical in the Nicosia Road in Famagusta, just before the big mosque roundabout. Geoff

Hi Vaughan, How much do you charge and are you a shop selling them? I was told that the fuses from the UK are no good for over here. Carol

The one mentioned above from TLC will fit although I am told the prongs forming the two terminals have to be prized open a little with a screwdriver. The fuse itself as mentioned earlier is the correct size but some are 60A and some are 80A. Mine is 80A. The actual fuse carrier in our apartment is a Lucy Switchgear carrier. Details as under :- LUCY SWITCHGEAR FUSE CARRIER P/NO RFC 60/80 plus 80 AMP CARTRIDGE FUSE TO SUIT STOCKIST :- CABLE SERVICES LTD STONE, STAFFS TEL NO. 01785 825970 CONTACT : JULIET PRICE AT 17 SEPT 2009 WHEN I BOUGHT MY SPARE :- FUSE CARRIER £5.90 FUSE £1.80 P&P £2.00 + VAT TOTAL £11.16 Hope this helps.
