Hi, does anyone know if there will be any displays anywhere? I don't even mind a drive to the south if there isn't any here? Thanks Louise

Msg 2. That's made my mind up where I will go to next November 5th. I can't stand the noise on the 5th only displays should be allowed, why haven't the PC people got hold of this one, too much money to be made on tax I think.

Just beacuse people have decided to live in another country does not mean we have to forget fireworks or any other British tradition. I take it nobody celebrates christmas here then!!!! Just my thought. Mikki

We have a specially designed bolt hole bunker for our dog when the fireworks start going off.She is absoluteley petrified of them (bless) she spends most of her time in the gas cupboard with her tin hat on, Paul.

msg 6. What a grump! Just because people live abroad doesnt mean they forget being British or British traditions. I prefer the fact that there are less fireworks here (simply because of my dogs), but I also still enjoy bonfire night and will be looking forward to it. I hope a few places manage to put something on, even if there are no actual fireworks.

Oh dear, didn't mean to start a debate, thanks for the info will keep an eye out for the info for JK's. If I was moaning about the lack of fireworks feel free to shoot me down about celebrating British traditions in TRNC but the fact that I was looking for somewhere to take my son to watch fireworks I don't think deserves me to be had a go at. When I lived in Britain the roads were forever closed for various religious celebrations and that was their right, so if I want to celebrate 5th of November in another country I think that is my right. Thanks Louise

Went to the Nov 5th bonfire night at Dhekelia Garrison, 5 miles east of Larnaca last year and it was excellent. Gates open 5.30 pm this Nov 5th. Adults 5 euro kids under 16 free. Top drawer display to music [ Rule Britannia/ Halleluja Chhorus etc.] and plenty of drink/food stalls. Just like being in the UK only it takes place on the beach and was warm ! It's a long trip for most of you guys but someone did ask !
