I realise this info is probably already on here somewhere but I am having trouble finding it. What do all the headings mean on your electric bills especially what is "maktu ucret" and how do they arrive at this figure? Any info would be much appreciated.

I haven't a bill in front of me but I'm sure it is the monthly standing charge which is based on the number of days since the last meter reading & varies from month to month. Can you remind me which line on the bill this is.? Is it just below the usage calculation.

I've just incovered a bill & it is the standing charge which is calculated at 0.3379... TL per day. Example 34 days since last bill = 11.49 TL & 32 days is 10.82 TL. Hope this helps.

Hi scruff, yes it comes just below the usage calculation. The "tuketim Toplami" is added to "maktu ucret" and then KDV at 10% is added on.

Kibtek do have a sneaky habit of increasing the daily rate without an announcement. I have an Excel spreadsheet which I update monthly. Despite using 600 less units this year than last year to date, I've still spent more on electricity this year to date than last year. IMO the rates per unit are still far higher than they were & do not reflect the reduction in the oil price.
