Traffic chaos in Girne this morning as they closed the area around the roundabout by the Belediye. Spoke to a couple of press and they said it was a suspect package. Bomb disposal unit were on the scene and I was told but cannot confirm that controlled explosion was used.

There was a controlled explosion about 1110 this morning, it wasn't very big so I would be suprised if it was an actual bomb. Most like someones shopping!

I wonder why they were so jumpy? Are they expecting trouble and from whom?

I irresponsibly and accidently left a bag on a London Underground station three weeks ago. Luckily a woman just picked it up and handed it in to the Station manger. Very strangely nobody even considered it to be a bomb.

Sorry no bomb, just someone left a box and went back to pick it up to find road cordoned off, end of drama, they were as shocked as everyone else at fuss!

Well, that's good enough for me. I feel so safe on this Island, which is in itself is a bonus.

Not long after the twin towers explosion, I saw a big box that was left at Stanstead airport. I reported it.

It was still sitting on the floor after we'd collected our luggage. Couldn't wait to get out of there.

So much for added security!!
