We have just returned from staying at the Hideaway Club which is just before you get into Edremit, the restaurant is open to non residents.

Also before you get to the Hideaway, coming up the hill from the main road, there is a restaurant called pasta mania, I ate a lovely king prawn rissotto there, portions are quite generous.

There is a restaurant, I think, called the Half Way House in or just going out of Edremit, although I have not tried it, some of the other forum members may be able to tell you more.

Can second comments re Pasta Mania, two ex Turish Cyprits who have been running an Italian restaurant in Melburne for the past 20 odd years and have now retuned home.

Half Way house ok , limited menu , you have to prebook and make your choices when booking , delightful setting , run by mother & son who do everything ie cook/serve/tend bar/wait on tables.

Labores is a new restaurant on the road up to Karmi we have had a couple of very nice meals there and will be going again this weekend. We have had some mixed experiences at Treasure on the outskirts of Karmi but may try it again soon as we have not been for a while. The views from there are fantastic.

Thanks everyone, thats really helpful. The Halfway House appears to be within walking distance of the villa so that will be our first port of call.

Go up the hill past Edrimit towords Karaman and it`s on the right hand side halway up.( Hence the name Halfway House ) I have been there 4 or 5 times now, everytime I`m in SUNNY TRNC I always go a least once.

Far be it from me to be biased, but no one should be visiting Labores - the man is a complete ar**-whipe - and is rapidly turning his so called Restuarant (more like tacky cake-like monster with fairy lights) into a club - sorry but there are just some places that this sort of venture should not be tolerated. The music volume is unbearable. Things like this are a complete minus for the island and he needs to be stopped. And all because the food is rubbish and the place is just a tacky mess, and he can't make it work as a restaurant.

oh sorry the original idea was to rely about restaraunts in general! Halfway House is ace and always will be because its tradition at its best - Mehmet and his mum Yasin run it, and while the menu is limited, at least you know they don't stick anything in the microwave, and because you have to order, it is bought fresh that day. Super stuff and plenty of it!

Lavant Restaurant in the village itself has now been sold, but new people will be taking over shortly. Treasure was being run by some no good peeps who staged a sit in for ages, but have now been evicted so not sure what will happen there. Follow Me has not been mentioned (turn off down into ravine just as you have gone through Edremit), but never eaten there so cannot comment. Pasta Mania is a nice place to go for a meal and is proving popular so good luck to them - nice Pina Coladas!!

Would also like to reccomend Pasta Mania, just been over to TRNC with my family and two other families for a week and visited the restaraunt twice as everyone of us rated it as the best Italian that we had ever had, the cheesy garlic bread is a must and the food is piping hot with friendly and helpful staff this restaraunt has got to be visited when in the TRNC.
