Not a dealer (there probably are none in TRNC). Go to Tunc Ltd just opposite and down from Kibtec in Girne Ataturk Street No 17 - it is a small corner shop. From experience Tunc is very helpful and will tell you what he can do honestly & at a reasonable price.

Queen. Remember you will invalidate the warranty on your watch unless the seal is replaced by an authorised repairer.

Had the battery on my Tag replaced by Tunc 5 years ago but can not remember the cost, it was only small anyway. Next battery change needed I sent it to the main dealer while I was in the UK. They sent it back to Tag as normal and for a cost of £99.00 it was serviced and the battery changed, returned with a complete warrenty again so the first battery change did not effect the warranty! Since then sold the Tag as no longer needed in retirement but if I still had it I would not bother with the main agent again unless you want to dive to below 30 mtrs as that is what Tunc guaranteed his work to. Considering that when I got it back from Tag and it was only guaranteed to 100 mtrs then and not the 300 mtrs as originally - I would be able to live with that!

Stephanides in the South are Tag dealers. Their service place is in a street opposite Debenhams in Makarios Avenue. I have used them several times and they are really pleasant and helpful. Penny

I think they may sell Tag watches in Resat Jewellers on the main high street in Kyrenia. My husband had his batter replaced a number of years ago by a main dealer and was told then that Tag would no longer guarantee the watch as waterproof. He more recently got the battery replaced by the watch man down the road opposite Resat heading towards Ataturk. He has had the watch for nearly 20 years and it is still going strong. Well worth the money in my opinion.

Hi joandkelly - is it a diving watch then and used when swimming etc. ? I have now had the watch battery replaced by the same watch repairer before Kibtec office in girne. He wreckons it is ok as he said "i put it back together the same" I am very hesitant after reading everything on the internet whether it had to be tested and something else has to occur to make sure its sealed properly.

I have a tag watch and took it to Akay Optıcs (I think its called next to Deniz Plaza) they replaced my battery for about 10 tl and all is well. It used to cost me a fortune in England for a new battery and service!

Have Tag not got a web site? If so it might list agents worldwide. If they do not mention TRNC then no one can call themselves a TRNC agent.

Unless a diving watch is hyperbarically tested and 'O' rings replaced on the back and the crown after opening, don't rely on it to be even waterproof, never mind fit for diving.

I took my watch to the Resat shop, its only an Armani one but they sell them there. However they told me that they will not change batteries so I took it to the little man on the same side just a couple of doors up from Kib-Tec. He hammered away at the back of it to get to the battery and dented the side of the back cover. He is a very sweet man ,and to be honest the dent cant be seen when my watch is on, but I personally wouldnt recommend him if you have an expensive watch like a TAG.

Re message 8, it is not a diving watch but is definitely 100% waterproof when swimming.
