Have these gone up this month. I have been and got my mothers bill and it has doubled this month compared to last month. Strange as nobody was in it either month as she is back in the uk for a short while. Then i got mine and mine has also nearly doubled.

Yes they have. Now they've been rounded up to whole Kurus and a couple of kurus added per kilowatt hour added. Then there's KDV (VAT) of 8% to add too.

pussycatuk, Before we all overreact, compare prices that we are currently paying in the UK. Energy prices whether it be Oil, Gas or Electricity are rising at a frightening pace, wherever we live, and we need to take a balanced view! Surely the question to ask is who is pocketing these excessive profits? wyn

A couple of quick questions: Do the ex-pats pay the same tarrifs as the local TCs? Are there any different tarrifs for houses, flats or apartments?

Paul90, There are only 2 tarriffs. Regular and Builders. Builders electric costs double to treble per unit over regular tarriff. At todays exchange rate the cost of the average unit, including KDV (VAT) and other charges, equates to 12p. This is 1p less than per unit than my relatives pay in the UK. My income here is just less than 50% (£350 a month for 40 hours a week) of a persons take home pay on minimum wage in the UK. So, in essence, I'm paying a lot more than my UK cousins.
