Sorry, I know this is not a topic relevant to the Forum - but here I go, just need to get things out. About 3.30am 31/10 wakened up to a lot of screaming, shouting and general mayhem, got up and looked out of the window, there was nothing to see at the park my house looks on to but knew there was something nasty happening. This happened in Petersburn Airdrie. A mother of four children was stabbed to death, her son, husband, sister and brother in law were also seriously injured. I didn't phone the police, which is something I will regret forever. Went out at six o'clock tonight to meet a few friends in the town centre was intending to drive home so had only one glass of wine. Next thing I know there are police and an ambulance outside the pub, street where car is has been sealed off - OMG another serious assault just outside. Airdrie is a small town, this should not be happening. I used to feel safe here, now I just want to escape!!!!!!!!!! NC has problems - cont

but don't see the serious incidents so close together happening there. Hope I am right. Killing and poisoning of innocent animals is terrible, but I would love to be able to poison the evil B*****ds that has left four kids without their mum. Anyone carrying a knife or weapon of any sort should be locked up for at least four years - without playstations and other luxuries and if their toys have taken a life then bring back hanging. UK is too soft on the sh*ts of this country. Think they should be made to work without putting money into their accounts, any money should be given to the victims or their families. Sorry, just need to let off some steam.

Shiela Unfortunately where Boglefan lives there is a large number of unemployed teens and it is not unusual for her to be wakened by the noise from the park with youths carrying on to all hours of the morning. Having known her for years she is very public spirited and if she had for one minute thought that what was going on was out of the ordinary she would have called the police. Just makes me grateful that I live here now as the violence in the UK has been on the increase now for years due to the softly softly approach of the police. Zero Tolerence and stricter prison sentences is what is needed and Capital punishment in some cases.

Smithy, the fact I did not phone the police has really upset me, but I have in the past phoned them when there have been problems in the park and if you are lucky they turn up an hour later when the fight or whatever is over. I had some idiots that thought it was good fun to set a fire against the side wall of the house. A neighbour alerted me and I had to get the fire brigade who after putting it out advised me to inform the police as it was malicious fireraising. Two police women turned up a good two hours later and the older of the two asked me what I wanted them to do! She was not too impressed when I told her that to do her job would be a good start. I was brought up to respect police but incidents recently have left me with quite a low opinion of a lot of them but I also realise that they must be very frustrated by the soft sentences handed out by the courts.

It is reported in one of the newspapers today that the gang were after the woman's two sons. She died trying to defend them. Don't know the truth of this, but seems feasible. No arrests as yet, but I do hope they catch to swine.
