Recently, when I change a channel on my TV I cant get back to the particular channels I want to watch, it says bad signal but Ive discovered the way to get them back is to switch off my satelite box and turn it back on again and I get my channels once again. Where does the problem lie, obviously nothing to do with my remote control although?

I have not figured out the problem but in order to narrow down the possibility, please tell us: Do you have one satellite dish or two dishes looking in different directions?

On the remote control, do you have a button to enable you to choose the right satellite? On which satellite are the channels you wish to watch and is that particular satellite selected?

Helo Elko 2 didnt expect a reply from your goodself. Whilst Im looking into your questions can I change subject completely and ask if one has to pay the Court to register a new TRNC Will (already have old one registered). I did new one at home and yes it has 2 witnesses to my signature so assume thats ok. Thanks

Elko 2

ok Ive looked from the house nextdoor and on my roof I have one old dish from Digiturk which contract was cancelled 1 year ago. My new system was installed by some Turkish company in Girne 1 year ago, so it was out of my hands in exactly what I was going to get but paid a 1 off payment for Channels Astra, Eurasia, Hotbird. I see that I have 1 dish that reads Bilsat (and another square dish behind and they both face same direction). Now this system was working for months and its only recently the problem has occurred so I dont think its to do with the direction of the dish. I only have 1 satelite system.

Hi Lostfound

The fact that you get back 'service' after a reboot makes me wonder if you ARE connected to more than one dish and have a problem with the DISEqUE mode on the receiver or the actual DISEqUE switch

DISEqUE is a feature allowing one receiver to view more than one sat service.

Lostfound,

Yes, as in your name you lost and found me, so here I am

So you have two dishes but both looking in the same direction and you receive "Astra, Eurasia and Hotbird". Sorry but that needs three dishes all looking at different directions.

Anyway, I agree mm that it must be the diseque faulty but not the diseque setting on your receiver. The Diseque is a little rectangular box where the cables from the dishes meet. Most probably this box needs replacing. It does not cost much. If you take it out,, make sure you note which cable goes to which port. They are normally numberred from one to four and they may be lined up differently on another diseque. So make sure no.1 goes to no.1 agains and so on. Good luck.
