Potatoes in North Cyprus

Hi everyone,



Does anyone know where we can get some decent potatoes??



Been trying for 5 days now, and been to all of the supermarkets on the west side and they are absolutely horrible. Full of eyes or so soft they are like sponges. I realise that its difficult to get some vegetables at different times of the year, but potatoes are part of our staple diet!

I got some lovely potatoes at the Wednesday Market Girne today, no eyes/spongy just great

I was told today that they, the growers, were having trouble getting them out of the ground because of the soggy conditions! they need two or three sunny days and normal service will resume. Being a paddy I can't wait!

Where is Ya beles, i normally go to Atakara as i find all their veg looks nice and fresh compared to some of the other supermarkets.

Its on the main road opposite Guidos/Pizza King in Alsancak (open veg and fruit stall) try it out you wont be disappointed - i buy all my fresh products there always.....
