Has anyone who instead of getting a shipping company to take their boxes asked the Airline if they would take a cargo load, I dont know if they do or not. But they did when my Son moved to Thailand and it worked out less than half price, I will only have 12/14 boxes and 2 cases but I have a lot of fragile items and dont want them thrown around, I just thought if the Airline which my son used can why not others, you take it yourself to the Airport and they loaded it into a crate so it was unloaded in your crate with no breakages. and you collected it when they called to do all the paperwork, thought someone would be able to help

Just a question but worth asking

Sheila

Hi Smithy,

I have used DHL for boxes, when moving around Europe. They will need the dimensions of the boxes and sometimes you have to take them to their depot in the departing country but they usually deliver in the UK.

I would think that this will work out cheaper than air carrier or air cargo.

Not sure about that Butler's wife

As they gave me a price of one box to Thailand and it was dearer than sending 20 boxes

When we sent via Thai Airlines to Thailand it worked out £120 for 17 boxes how good was that

DHL have out priced them selves

Thanks for the info though

I rang Turkish Airlines a few weeks ago and was quoted 180 euros for 100 kilos in weight

Hi Dozza67 Once I find out the weight of the boxes then I might have an idea how much it will cost, but thats not a bad price, for 100 kilos

thanks for the info
