Here's the photos of the aircon unit for the middle bedroom as fitted by F & J for those wanting something to retreat to from the summer heat. They've managed to fit it on the outside wall rather than have it sitting on the balcony taking up valuable room, cost £240. http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa219/Lemtich/CIMG1213.jpg http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa219/Lemtich/CIMG1214.jpg Andrew Cowley, who is the contact for F & J can be reached on : - andrewcowley2845@gmail.com if you would like one as well. Its a small bedroom and if you close the window to keep the mozzies out, could be sweltering. This as the first message of the continuation from the previous thread, I'd be happy if you could follow on from here. Cheers Lem

Does anyone know of what further progress has been made to the interior of the blocks in Phase two? Have external doors been fitted? Is there only activity on the site itself and not the apartmetns themselves/ Any update would be appreciated.

Well I got news today that my flat which is in block 4 is pretty much complete. I have all my kitchen units in, all the tiles have been done, my wardrobs are in and my bathroom is finished. I also got news that block 4 has been painted green which I wasn't too happy about, but very excited that there is progression. I think all that is missing at the mo is the front door. If anyone else knows of any progress please let us know. Also, if anyone has seen the colours please give some feedback as I would have pref the plain cream!!!

Thanks Gailforce, I have to agree about the colours. The kitchen units were in place in early April but no bathroom equipment. The worktops were not fitted and no external doors were fitted to the apartments. So hopefully this is progress. Again, thanks.

lol Kav. I know stickle the colours are rather disappointing! The whole point of buying in phase two was because we liked what we saw in Phase one!! Oh well as long as there is progression I am happy.. Is there anyone who has actually moved into their properties in either phase one or two? Phase two I doubt but I thought I would ask anyway. As my feedback is just from what I have been told and not really seen??

I was also told that the apartments are going to be different colours than of phase 1 and the name instead of being called 'neapolitan' they told me they are going to be "The Rainbow Residence' and guess who is running the maintenance etc 2 blokes named 'Bungle' and 'Zippy' . Up above the apartments of Cyprus Rainbow flying high ........

Greetings Gailforce, Not that I’m always here in WWW3, yours being WWW4, if there’s anything you need to know about progress of Phase 2, then just ask. On the basis I kept photos going back to 2005 of Phase One, like every month, based upon adverse experience, “Welcome to the Land of Kavanlar and the Living Dead”, I checked my photographic records. The current stage of Phase two, is liken to Phase One 30/07/2007. Move in, habitable date, was 01/11/2008. This should give you some idea as to when, if ever, you finally take finished delivery. Imagine, a simple thing, like internal lights for the common areas, has only taken 9 months, but finally 20/05/2008, there is now water in Phase One’s pond. Happy Days. MM

Hi, I as told by Ilker that phase 2 would be complete, first in march then April and then the end of May. The estate agent said that he would hang himself if the apartments were not complete by the end of July. Looks like he might have too. I would also have been happier with the same colour as phase 1. However right now a true completion date would be great. Cheers

Hi everyone, I am moving into Block 5 in September. We arrive in Cyprus at the end of July and will be staying at the Riverside until our furniture arrives. We have decided to take the plunge and move out there permanently. I am married with 2 kids, ages 14 and 12. I would love to hear from anyone who is doing the same as us. Glad to hear there is finally water in the pool.

Hi Gailforce How did you get to know about the recent progress including bathrooms being fitted. We have being e-mailing Ilker and also Hulya to request a completion date so that we can plan leave from work, book flights and get REALLY excited!! We have not had any response. We would really appreciate photos from anyone or up to date info. We are also concerned about the colours and think that it may be some kind of wind-up. Do anyone have any alternative e-mail address for Ilker apart from the Kavanlar@superonline? This site is our lifeline at the moment!

Hi Lem, We are in phase 1, we bought in January when we were on holiday. Apparently it was the last apartment in that phase. We later heard that someone had backed out, couldnt get a mortgage. Dont know whether we have been ripped off with the price, seems the apartments are selling for £58,000, we paid a lot more than that. When we questioned the price they said it was because the apartment was finished and we didnt have to wait like the other phases. Debs

| Sorry about those last 2 duplicates. There must be an echo in here. By the way, to all on Phase 2. As you are owners, once you have all bought your apartments in a block, so long as you all agree on a colour and share paying a painter, you can decide to have it painted whatever colour you like. | For your information there are children playing in the pool today and the adults are enjoying a beer and a chat. Looking forward to seeing you all enjoying the same when you arrive. Can I just mention that the colour of phase 2 appears to be just green, they have painted approx half. Looks like the different colours painted in strips on a few walls were for decision making only. It is a pastel green and not garish. It amuses me at the quick wit of you lot - Neapolitan - good one Lem. Lamp posts have now been erected and they are tiling around the pool area but the inner pool has not yet been tiled. |

Hi Janann, Thankyou for taking the time to update on phase 2. Externally, would you say just the inside of the pool, main doors and painting are left to be completed? Is the gazebo/bandstand up yet? We still haven't had responses from Ilker. Did he just contact people on Phase 1 to say your apartment is ready, did you have to pester or did he give you notice to plan? Regards HP

Pester is not the word, hounded more like it but we moved here in May last year so we made his life hell until we could move in. They are tiling the gazebo area so the gazebo will not be built until they have finished. Had a nosey from our roof and could see that a couple of the blocks do infact have the main entrance door fitted. Road still to have tarmac layed then it will be pretty tidy. Should not have a problem having white goods/furniture delivered to site now.

I'd like to second Jan's comment. Ilker will only move unless he has you on the phone every few days. Keep it light and good humoured but keep it persistant, he will respect you for it. If he says the carpenter/plumber/electrician is going in next Wednesday, ring on Tuesday to "confirm" by way of reminder. Lem

Hi HP sorry haven't been on the forum for a couple of days. I bought my apartment off a developer who has 3 blocks in phase 2 - she works closely with Ilker and the site owner, she has been able to hurry the whole thing along for us and has been great. We get all our info from her as she is always in contact. From all the feedback on the forum looks as though things are going smoothly at the moment and hopefully will be completed soon. Janann thank you for all you insight. We are due out in July 22nd - we are hoping to stay in our flat. Do you think it will be finished or will I have to stay in a hotel? Hoping to order the furniture from over here in London and they my husband will be coming out end of June to get the water and elec connected.. anyone know time frame for connection, do you have to apply first and then wait. Have heard many different things.

Hi Gailforce. You are in the lap of the gods with the electric. You could be one of the lucky ones who gets a meter within a few weeks after paying your installation fee but many have waited months due to the lack of meters on the island this year. Our water meter was fitted within a couple of weeks. The picture will be clearer when your husband visits at the end of June. Your site is farther advanced than phase one when we moved in. You should not have much trouble booking in a hotel at the last min if needed.

Hi there, High Priest. No reply from either one infamous Ilker or Hula, whether by phone, Bush Telegraph, or E-Mail. The only time you will hear from either, is when they want money. Never Mind, keep your Pecker Up and as to Phase two, they are now painting, green, the outsides, painting over (green) all the unpainted bits they missed before. Unreal, they now have six sets of scafolding, absolutely unreal and paint in the Dark!! This is progress indeed. July, well, wishful thinking, but which year!!

Its not only that, Phase 2 is luminous! I heard they got the paint as a job lot from some nuclear power station somewhere. Nothing like a nice green glow to liven up Alsancak at night! Still it will save on installing perimeter lighting! Lem

Does anyone have any idea when the large - and getting larger by the day - hole in the road on Phase 1 is going to be filled in? If it gets much deeper, we'll be able to visit Australia without bothering to buy an airline ticket. In my professional capacity as a soothsayer, I did foresee some time ago that anybody living round the back would need to purchase a 4 x 4 and I fear I am correct (as ever). What say you Mickey Mouse??!

Just spoken to Ilker + he said all on phase 2 are finished apart from landscaping + pool. We have also had pictures today from Unwins of our apt 5 block 5 inside + out . External door on , sink in , extractor fan in , worktops on , everything looks good although no bathroom pictures . Ilker said the electrics are to be inspected 16 June + the government will take 2 weeks to complete . So he said booking 1st 2 weeks in July with 1st week in hotel to clean , deliver furn. + white goods + get water / elec meters should be fine , but I should ring him in 2 weeks to make sure . In fact he said ring him anytime . He also said that there is no shortage of meters anymore , but he won,t get one for us , we must go ourselves .

hi nostradamus you do over exaggerate dont you ?australia .4x4 s and then cry for your side kicking mouse . if you have nothing positive to say why bother trying to kick a hornets nest ? and why hide behind your posts ? i think you must have fallen out with ilker so this is your way of getting back at him? leave all the people on phase2 to find their own way ,they ask questions and advice and they will judge themselves . as for phase1 they learnt fast . what about you kav

hi cooper water tank on the roof .round cyliner on a frame ,next to solar panels etc . in the centre is the cover for tank that covers emmersion heater elament . as previously said they tend to install and then when you turn on emmersion to try etc it burns out thermostat bar .it may not do on yours . i was one of around 5 unlucky people on phase1 . i had white goods delivered yes without supply .i took the gamble that goods be ok but really its your call as once the supplier has dropped them off they cant check them .allthough ilker may give you temop supply as he did with me for a day or 2 just to check everything was working ,this was done with their electrician going around and correcting small faults etc . POA is easy as well providing you got somebody out there ? kav

Hi Cooper POA has to be drafted in Turkish and stamped by the TRNC Consulate in London before it is accepted at the Land Registry Office. I can email you the template where you just insert the person's name and passport number. Lem

Greetings and facilitations Soothsayer. Unlike some others on this Site, you obviously know what you are talking about and whilst they may “Live in Cloud Cuckoo Land”, and think the Sun shines out of certain individuals ass, believing every word he utters, you don’t. Quite obviously, you are a realist. As to the infamous Earthquake Hole in the vicinity of Block 3, Kavanlar, don’t care a damn, just like any other legitimate complaint. Judging by one guy’s comments, he thinks you are being rather negative and have over exaggerated, quite amazing.. He should try driving over this appalling situation, or may be, like some others in Phase one, if it doesn’t effect them, why the Hell should they Care!! God forbid, why on earth should anyone want to get at Mr.Metin, after all, rumour has it on this Site, he’s a really nice guy, so genuine and very sincere? As for the additional comment, this is your way, behind closed doors, of getting back at this gentleman, he can’t even read English, let alone have the time to peruse miles of complaints. I thought much earlier in this ongoing saga, Kavanlar promised certain clients, that Phase Two would be complete by the End of May. In their Dreams perhaps!!

AH THE MOUSE WITH A SENSE OF HUMOUR ,LOL how are you my friend ,was just awaiting your reply ......seriously though i would hint at a slice of sarcism towards my goodself here . so just to fill you in .i drove around the site not long ago ,the hole is bad yes i agree and should be fixed with hardcore etc underneath ,i dont think they will bring one large truck with tarmac and repair it until they tarmac site 2 .....its obvious the hole is there and its wide enough not to have anybodys 4x4 fall in and land in australia . however as i have appartment on site1 i would suggest it did actually concern me and will get sorted ,it was spoke about last week with a meeting between residents and meps ,i wont bore with the details though . as for ilker he isnt as bad as you may suggest ,yes evasive does get the job done eventually ,so when you here some posts over the years of rip off builders and not fullfilling their promises to customers i think kavanlar are ok . my opinion yes and i suppose some would say not ,beleive me if we were in uk a rocket up the ring would spring to mind ,however we are not and have to work with different people in different cultures. so all i suggest is lets be a bit more positive in the sun rather than scare everybody away ?. on a friendlier note i would love to meet and have a beer with yourself and nostradamus and see what we have in common ,i bet we have allready met . email me on dvlng3@aol.com kav |

Kavenkoy - how can you doubt my good intentions??! My arrangements with the infamous Ilker must remain a secret. I'm sorry that I must keep my identity hidden Apart from being the soothsayer, I do have to admit to a second profession - the oldest one. I'd love to divulge my name - perhaps good advertising(?) - but I fear it may generate embarrassment among the worthy residents.

Hello Cooper POA - now there's a drama. 1. Get your solicitor to draft you a poa for whomever you've appointed. You'll need an English version and a turkish version - the turkish one is the official doc. Also remember, they are not block 1 etc as originally thought - they are block a, b c etc. 2. Check it as best you can. 3. Make 3 copies. 4. Make an appointment with a public notary. our nearest one was in darlington, I think it was Blackett Hart and Pratt. Nice gentleman (about £100 to stamp 3 times) 5. Show him the 3 copies to be stamped and the English translation. 6. Register post it to the North Cyprus office in London with a SAE (i'll look for the address) 7. DHL it to your solicitor or party at the other side who is dealing with your stuff. Give yourself 3 weeks for the process to complete. 8. keep your fingers crossed that your chosen poa can speak Turkish and find there way around the system. We had trouble because the poa said 'block 1'. Good luck Smudge

Kavs approach sounds like a good one. If you are there in 10 days you wouldn't have time to do the formal poa route via the English notary. Hope it goes well. Extremely jealous that you'll be out there in 10 days and I - well - won't! Enjoy Smudge

Hi Guys Part 2 of the Kavanlar Thread has now reached 100 messages. I propose to start Part 3 with some photos of Phase 2 sent to me by High Priest. They look a couple of weeks old but should be of interest. For those buying in Phase 2, just think in a year or two you will be giving your advice to those buying in Phase 3 and 4. I'm also enclosing a ground plan of the whole Kavanlar Development courtesy of Kav. Lem

G/Day Kavenkoy, Not really or intended sarcasm towards your good self, just an observation. As to the infamous and long outstanding hole, not the correct terminology really, more an assault course for conventional vehicles, it’s absolutely lethal for sport type motors that are low to the ground with low profile tyres. Naturally, the infamous Kavanlar will not bring any rectification equipment until Phase two, but in reality, just how many moons ahead to you actually contemplate this being? At the end of the day, this is hardly the point, it should never have ocurred in the first place and should have been fully rectified immediately. According to an ugly rumour, and their totally worthless Contract, there is supposed to be a Five Warranty. But this is not Kavanlar’s scene and to reiterate, they don’t care a Shit, just move on to the next unfortunates and take their Shekels. As to MPG3, they care even less, and to be fair, it shouldn’t be their problem. Sadly, MM wouldn’t concur with your Mr.Metin evaluations. Evasive, well that’s quite an understatement and wouldn’t be MM's over all interpretation. According to some, the gentleman has never told the truth in his entire life and doesn’t know the meaning of the word. As to other crap builders, after all, LOLD is full of them, but I would agree, Kavanlar are a shade better than most. However, in the real World, terminology such as Builder’s Cleans, Snag lists, lack of client/builder communication, is virtually non existent, let alone attending to infrastructure after one builds. To qualify above, MM is referring to proper tarmac roads, water, electricity and telecommunications before the event without having to pay, after purchase, or to be more precise, being absolutely “Ripped Off” for Water and Electricity connections and having to wait Light Years. I agree, being positive is one thing, but when it comes to Kavanlar, it has to be based upon reality which is hardly correct in this case. Sadly, I have never met Nostradamus, and know not who it is, but based upon their last reply to you, I think it runs a “Knocking Shop”. You reckon we have already met, but sorry, MM can’t recall. As to a beer, nice suggestion, but MM doesn’t sup the stuff.
