| Don't touch off plan, it's likely you'll never get it. Make sure the builder owns the land and not a third party. To see if you are paying a fair market price for a property then multiply the covered area by £750, or if the property has a title deed in place £850. Do your homework. Check out with the authorities the credentials of all people you engage to do work on your behalf. Think with your head, not your heart. Don't do anything that you wouldn't consider to be the norm in the UK. Ensure EVERYTHING is included in a contract. Assume nothing is taken as read, especially electric and water connections with either included or a maximum cost stated and roads on a site and connecting to a main road. Make the contract water tight. Shop around a long time. If you can, rent here for upto 12 months before you decide to jump. |
