| Hi, Can anyone advise me on purchasing a new desk top computer please? What would I expect to pay and what would you suggest is a good model? Not looking for one with all the bells and whistles, just one to send E mails Etc. And before anyone suggests I get of my backside and go around the local shops, I am working in Jordan but coming back to the TRNC in 6 weeks to buy one. I know we have IT experts on here who may help. Thanks in anticipation. |

| Hi stokiefan - agobard's system - sounds like a reasonable buy to me for what you want to do, as the PC's in the north can be expensive and very few that i have seen have Windows 7 installed. I looked at buying from the south but you may end up with incurring import tax which can be even more expensive. If however you can get a reasonable deal on a high spec laptop in jordan, why not get one there and bring it with you as hand luggage, keep the receipt to prove it is 'used' hope this helps |
