I still can not believe that with all the restaurants, old and new...none do deliveries!!! Yet again i am sitting here in Karsiyaka, sans car, just dying for a curry but have no way of getting one!! This is getting beyond a joke, every so often i call all the curry shops asking if they now do deliveries, and as always they say no!! Surely but surely i am not the only one wanting this??? Maybe someone should set up a delivery service, one company with a menu of several restaurants that can pick up from all of them...Just a thought...

Anyway, i spose i'l be having cheese on toast....again!!! bleurgh!!!

Hi Sam

Did you not know that soon they are opening a curry shop in the square where the coffee shops are. They are having a special opening night on the 20th November where there will be a free take away and delivery service for the first 10 customers that purchase any electrical items.

Why not cook yourself one. Here are some recipes.

the easy way is to get a jar of pataks curry paste, not sauce, and follow the instuctions on the jar, if you use chicken a curry can be made in 20 minutes and Pataks are far more expert in making curries than most and have spent a fortune getting things right. Couldn't be easier

Steve...how the hell come i do not know about this??????? oh my....this has made my day...roll on the 20th...i wonder if buying a plug will suffice?

JohnW...i have made many curries, and they're usually nice, but they're never quite the same as the ones from the restaurants...but i shall copy these recipes to my pc and maybe use them later, so thanks for that.

Ezic will not deliver as far away as Karsiyaka AKA Dark Side Of the Moon!!

Chinaeyes basmati rice is included in the price of the main course at Taj Mahal. You only pay extra if you want one of the special rices.

Isn't the real problem the unavailability of an A - Z?

Then the missing street names, then the missing house numbers.

I'm sure if you went to your local favourite restaurant/kebab house with a detailed, easy to follow map, most would deliver.

I also remember a post about GoogleMap. We can all join and enter street names. How long would it take to do Zeytinlik, Kagagoogoo, Alsancak, Lapta, Karsiyaka, and on the nice side; Dogankoy, Ozankoy, Catalkoy, Bellapais?

In fact I might do it myself. It can't take more than 2 hours to do any of the above. I just need a scooter.

Taj Mahal takeaway menu says on the back of the leaflet that all meals are served with basmati rice - the rice menu is additional like most takeaway menus for those greedy gannets! Also i saw somewhere that they are doing all chicken dishes with rice for 15tl but not sure if this includes delivery. Karsiyaka are covered so get phoning now....

Hiya Daisy we had\a special request for a vindaloo style curry this week, we are an Italian and many other things as you well know. However I was a tad worried but my guy enjoyed it so much.I hope he looks at this and will let you know. So my lovely girl let us know your requirements and I will personally bring it to you

Cook it yourself, you lazy c.w.

I am getting a little bit tired of the fact that you are always on here asking for favours of one sort or another. I used to think you were a nice socieable woman, but, I have to say, recently, all you seem to do is to beg favours, one way or another - which is fine, but you seem to be incapable of even going out to fetch yourself a takeaway. I couldn't help but notice that you derided Turtle today for his saying he was leaving the forum. I would suggest you cast your mind back to when you told us all that you were leaving TRNC to drive across Bulgaria (notwithstanding the fact that you cannot, apparently drive). I notice you are still in TRNC. You asked for help in selling your property - again, nothing wrong with asking for help from people, but you never seem to follow anything up. I would appreciate your thoughts. I am curious about this and quite a few other subject matters that you have poste on here.

Regards.

I admit i was getting a bit ahead of myself when i wanted to know how much it would cost to drive to Bulgaria, i was hoping my house would sell so i could go there, but it hasn't, and although i don't drive, a couple of friends fancied doing a road trip, hence i wanted to see if anyone knew how much it would be to hire a van for the trip. As for food deliveries, i'm thinking that as there are so many Indian restaurants, it stands to reason that one of them would do deliveries, but alas not yet. I have made a few curries in the past, but they never quite taste the same, maybe i'm just a rubbish cook. Anyway, i hope this has cleared things up for you, are there any more questions you would like to ask me? It might be a better idea to email me instead of boring everyone with your need to know why i post what i post.

Daisy, Well done I think you replied to Jeannies comments with considerable restraint!

This forum is (I thought) supposed to be for people to ask advice and make comments etc, so what if you haven't rushed off to Bulgaria! (I for one am glad you are still here!). Plus knowing where you live I also appreciate the fact it is difficult to get food deliveries, sometimes not because the restaurants won't deliver but sometimes because its hard explaining exactly where one lives!! I am crap cook too or I would rustle you up a curry and bring it myself!!

Can you not just look in the Buzz book, ring the establishment that interests you and give them directions to your home, I have always found the people here to be more than helpful and happy to try to meet your needs.

hattikins, i've called all the restaurants in this buzz book periodically over time, and no one delivers. The main reason i want a delivery is because i don't drive, and the bus's to Karsiyaka only run every hour or so, so if i was to take the bus, by the time i get home, it's cold (i have tried to do this) and i don't have a microwave. I thought that if enough folk agreed, and also wanted deliveries, then maybe Riaz or Mo, or any of the other managers who read this forum, might just start doing it...seems reasonable to me.

authentichoccie..thanks for your kind words, maybe we should get together and teach ourselves to cook curries!!

Please accept my apologies. On re-reading my post this morning, I appreciate it was over the top. To make amends, the next time we are over (June) how about I send Paul round to cook you a curry, with instructions for you to follow at a later date?

If you are prepared too pay for the delivery, if it is too far out, or place a substantual order, then I am sure these places may deliver, but an order for one person would not be cost effective, unless your a larger person with a big appetite................. being polite there.

Oleander, i have done this in the past, but the taxi alone is approx 20TL, add that to the curry...and that is one hell of an expensive meal for one!
