I had an e.mail from someone who has been trying to join C44 with no luck because she gets a message about not using a free e.mail address. Personally I have only g.mail account which is free and I don't have any other. I find the ones supplied by ISPs not convenient because I want to feel free to change them any time I like. If I cancel my ISP, my e.mail may be cancelled too as it did happen to me with Superonline. Izzet, can you clarify this position please, is it true that new members must supply a paid e.mail address? Rule 13 does not say anything about this. ismet Rule 13 is as follows: 13. Valid Email Address You need to have a valid email address on file. A verification email will be sent which you will need to act upon to confirm your email address. You may not be allowed to post until you confirm your email address.

My dear Elko. I asked a similar question a few days ago, this was the response I received. I hope it helps you as much as it did me! pinkchilli This question has been answered now at least 3 times. And a similar question has been asked on this thread: http://www.cyprus44.com/forums/25491.asp Rule 2. Do Your Little Research Before Asking Use the popular forum tags function to read similar posts. Make sure to use the search function before posting. Chances are your question has already been answered. AJ

If people need to keep asking the question then obviously the rule is not clear enough. A neighbour of mine has the same problem and emailed Izzet to ask why she could not become a member. His response was to register using the email address she had emailed him on which is a Yahoo email address - doh!

I had a friend who wanted to join with the same problem, I had read that people can only join now on the recommendation from another member, so i emailed Izzet with my friends name and email address, Izzet will reply with a security email address that the new member can register with, then once registered they can change it to their own email address in their profile to send the verification email. Hope this helps.

Thanks Baldeagle. Maybe there will be a "note" added in this rule to explain.

A friend, who has a paid for e-mail address, couldn't join either so he has given up! I'm quite sure that about 90% of users have e-mail addresses with either Hotmail, Yahoo or Google so this does seem to be a bizarre move.

Not so bizarre as you might think, if anyone has a problem joining this board then they should contact Izzet by e-mail. AJ |
