Hello All,

We went to the opening of the new restaurant in Catalkoy called Midsummer House last night. And all I can say is Wow!!

Really top notch food,Tastes and flavours that blew us away, fabulous building, very welcoming hosts.

I feel this will knock spots off the top end of the market as they seem to have their finger on the pulse as to what you are looking for on that special occasion.

Try it and I defy you not to be knocked out!

Nick

I do not care what relationship the poster is to the proprietors, If I am made aware of a new restaurant then I will go and find out for myself. Makes no difference whether it is the proprietor, proprietors son/cousin/girlfriend/mother/half brother/wife/next door neighbour/village muhtar or anyone else that posts. The information is posted to make everyone aware of the new restaurant and that is what this poster has done.

Thanks Pipie, I was about to ask the same. If you don't know where the Dedeman Olive Tree is those directions are really not much help. Please elaborate

The turning for Dedeman Olive Tree is just after Hot Chick - in Catalkoy main road (just past Supreme Supermarket), there's a hugh sign.....there are also signs/arrows pointing to the direction of this hotel.

As for the new restaurant...I haven't seen it yet!

Got to agree with skybluesam, this restaurant Midsummer House really is the business.

Good Luck to the owners they deserve success as so much effort has been put into getting it up and running.

We had a great meal in beautiful surroundings, also the staff were wonderful so attentive and friendly.

You will pay more than most other establishments , but in my opinion well worth it.

Derek.

I know how to spell thank you. No one died that i know of anyway, and King, i would be a Queen thanks.....! Have you got any friends? I would wonder when you make assumptions about people by their postings and how shallow you must be to judge someones wealth or lack of by them asking a simple question, However, i asked the original poster on this topic Skybluesam......NOT you!

It is not does,nt

Obviously you do not understand that it is does not, abbreviated. Glasshouses & Stones spring to mind.

Not that I play tennis, but the owner said I'd be welcome to use their tennis court (floodlit)!

We also went on NYE and had a fabulous evening. This place is heaps better than the Golf Club for fine dining. Beautiful setting, fabulous food and welcoming friendly proprietors. Beer was 7Tl and wine was no dearer than other restaurants. Finally NO I am in no way related to or friends of the owners. Give it a try especially if you have a special occasion or celebration or just if you want a really classy meal.

Hi everyone. This is the proprietor of Midsummer House. Seeing some of the comments, felt that i should respond and clarify what we are about.Firstly we would like to thank those who have already been and enjoyed their experience with us.( We`ve also enjoyed meeting and serving them).

When we first opened 2 months ago we did 4 course meal with fresh canapes for 70 tl as a fixed price .Although everything we served were enjoyed by all some expressed opinion of not necessarily wanting 4 course. We then altered our menu by pricing everthing individually. Our prices for main courses range between 25-38 tl for freshly prepared food with very attentive service in elegant surroundings. Our wines are average price of 33-40 tl for a bottle, however we also stock good quality wines for more.

Our lunch menu is even cheaper.Use of our tennis court and swimming pool with shower rooms are available for complimentary use to our customers.I hope this clarifies things.

Hi Angela,

this is Nick that started this thread, good to see you are getting some positive feed back at last, there seems to be such negativity on this board at times.

Good luck and see you soon.

Nick x

Good luck Erdin. I'll have to persuade my husband to bring me for my birthday next month - it's quite a hike for us but it sounds like it wil be worth the effort. I hope you do make vegetarian food as I have to admit I'm getting a teensy bit bored with hellim and chips when I go out. Wishing you a long and prosperous career
