Our last bill was 73Tl and that was for two people in a three bedroom villa with standard electrical appliances, no aircon used, oven used occasionally, no swimming pool, no Jacuzzi. So what was your last bill? AJ

Wanted to add yes actually its to cover 2 people staying for 1 month. Still would like more feedback. Alsancak Jack Not that simple! Im plugged into my neighbours house with their permission but do not have a separate meter and wondered what a fair price would be for them to contribute to their 4 weeks stay. I asked a neighbour down the road who has no pool etc and she said hers is 138 lire per month. Seems crazy compared you your 73 TL !!!!

We used 139TL last month. We are 3 people in a 4 bedroom house (2 bedrooms not used), gas cooking. No pool, Jacuzzi drained down.

Problem with this sort of question is that you'll never find 2 households that use electricity the same way. So no pool or aircon use. What about TV, PC, lights, washing machine & dishwasher? Some people use a washing machine almost every day & leave every light in the house on & appliances on standby. The only sure way to deal with this problem is to get a meter. Friends of mine did just this because they were sharing an electric supply with several others. When the bill came in, as a result, they were able to fairly share the cost. I think the meters were sourced in the UK. in this instance.

There are other things to take into account and that is use of the immersion heater which will be much more prevalent in certain areas depending on the availability of sun light at the right time of the day. After our last bill we are now having to turn it on maybe every other 2/3 days for 1 hour. But based on last years bills I do not expect a significant increase in our electricity bills. AJ

Get a private check meter fitted and deduct the units used from the bill.

As an addition to my posting, we have no dishwasher but our washing machine is on at least on average 3 to 4 times a week, my laptop is on 24/7, television is on for two hours in the morning and on for maybe four hours in the evening and our lighting requirements are minimal. AJ

Usually between 50-60 Tl per month for 2 people no pool or use of airconditioning. Will go up a bit as you need to use the hot water booster more as it gets colder. You also need to watch out if you are on builders electric which I understand is up to 3 times more expensive. Aussie
