The best way to go about it is to ask them IN WRITING to check its accuracy. Unless you do it in writing nobody may take any notice. That is how I would do it. If they find that it is accurate, you have to pay a small fee for it but not otherwise. You can ask them how much it is. Give me your full details and I will write one for you in Turkish and then you can take it to them. Send me an e.mail, stating in whose name the meter is, address where the meter is installed and the meter no. etc, it should all be on the invoice. ismet

Elko2. Read this post with great interest as our bills are 200/250 tl with much the same size villa as andrew432 and we have 3 other neighbouring houses same size with same number of occupants as us (2) and their bills are a less than half size of ours. Could I ask if you could give or do a ccopy of the letter for me. Thanking you in advance Bob

I had the same issue last year and I requested it be checked and they came and installed a temporary meter and sent the other of to be checked it cost me 53 TL and it came back with a report saying it was fine ! It turned out the electrician had hard wired the immersion heater to by pass the on off switch when he wired the villa, hence my bills were 500 TL a month so you might want to get an electrician to check those things before you get the metre checked ?

Let us make it ssimple and easy. You can give the details and write the folowing in the body: "Efendim, Elektrik sayacımın yanlış ölçüm yaptığına inanmaktayım, test edilmesini rica ediyorum. Saygılarımla," Which translates as follows: Dear Sir, I believe that my electric meter is reading falsely, therefore I would like you to test it please. Yours faithfully
