RE MEDIEVAL CYPRUS SOCIETY, Friday, November 20: Two regular attendants of the historical MCF readings in Chateau Lambousa, Lapta, are looking for someone to pick them up at their end of Alsancak. Anne & David could meet him/her at the Acmenya car park at a suitable time, say 7.25 pm.

Is there anyone out there to help with this problem? Please mail me and I'll make the contact: mcf.trnc@gmail.com (Hans Doeleman).

Charging for your erudite lectures, as you do, have you not thought of sharing the cost of a courtesy minibus with the owner of Lambousa, running from Girne centre, return, to the lecture hall? This might generate more participants and further the bar take!

RE msg 2, Brinsley: I knew it, after all the rubbish you wrote on this board you'd come up with a fine idea one day! Well, when we've finished the process of buying our second holiday house on Barbados (paid for by free walks and 10 TL per head per reading) I'll buy a Mercedes dolmush. Better than a minibus, eh? In the meantime I'm looking for a sponsor (you?) to buy a new Mac computer (2000 Euros) which I need to connect to the projector we use. And maybe you also know a way to achieve the books and documentation I need for free? And a new camera? Free petrol when I visit places I want to talk about? Free ink (and I use a lot!)? Keep on thinking and helping, Richard, although I'm not short of ideas myself.

P.S. Just got a "Brinsley idea": next time you need a lift I'll charge you.

Dear Anne & David: please call me (05338465433), because I have found someone who can give you a lift.
