We are now getting visited by four cats regularly. This is the south side of the village and on the mountain-side of the main road. Just wondered if these are strays or maybe lost. All four look in decent condition and are quite young (9 to 18 months or so). One is a ginger (male) One is white with black markings (also male) One is a grey tabby (unsure m/f). One is a fluffy coated tabby with some white markings. Female, and possibly up to 3-5 years old.

Hi there, we are also on the mountain side of Karsiyaka near to the new Selvi Village and we have a couple of strays at the moment with one matching the last description. It is very timid. We also have a kitten "camping out" on our balcony and although very cute we do have three cats of our own. Where do they come from. By the way the kitten is very friendly and will let you pick it up so we believe it may belong to somebody

Unfortunately stray cats and dogs are too common here. It seems to be the majority of ex pats who are responsbile enough to get their animals neutered. We have had 9 cats that escalated from 3, which we suspect the builders left. 2 died and we were down to 7 and now we have another 2. Have just spent 3 trips to vet and cost for another stray to have an operation and the cost of feeding them all is expensive. If only everyone was responsible enough to get their own cats/dogs done and help with collecting strays for them to be neutered too.

If you visit KAR offices in Girne they will give you a voucher to take an animal to the vet to be spayed/neutered (hopefully in return for a donation) We have done this with all 11 cats and thank them for this service.

Sid447 are these cats in message 1 still coming to you as at lease two that fit the descriptions are camped on our balcony we are going to take them to be neutered and a third if we can catch it. We think the two kittens belong to someone as they are very at ease with people.
