whilst out shopping in starling(previously fresco) last wed. evening,my 12 year old son went to pick himself a drink out of the chiller.he picked up a mango and orange drink which looked like a new type of milkshake.it was called MELTDOWN.he came and asked if it was ok for him to have it.there was nothing which stood out to suggest that he shouldnt have it,apart from there not being a price ticket visible.it turned out that this inocent looking drink, which was placed in a chiller at eye level, with no label showing, could very well have caused a lot of damage.in very small unobtrusive print were the words..POTENT,NOT TO BE CONSUMED UNDER 18 YRS,TWO SERVINGS IN ONE BOTTLE, side affects include nausea, increased heart rate etc.luckily,he only had half the bottle before he alerted us.the worrying thing is the cashier didnt bat an eyelid when he waited by the till for his drink to come through and he went outside with it.outcome could have been very bad if a younger child had been involved.

How dreadful, I think this should be bought to the attention of the Police, as you say another smaller child could be given this thinking it was just a fruit drink/milkshake

LostFound - years ago, when we lived in London, I regularly saw little kids (5 years) buying fags and not for themselves - Mum kindly put a note in the purse. Just trotted down to the local corner shop with a purse with £5.00 in it. Who was wrong - the mother who couldn't get her lazy bum out of bed but sent the kid, or the proprietor of the corner shop who sold the little one the fags. When I pointed out to the shop owner that she was breaking the law, she replied that if they didn't get the fags from there, they would get them from somewhere else.

There is no age for alcohol here, i work in a bar and often children of 12 will be at the bar with the parents, and order a beer or something else. Its parents discretion completely.

its a high energy drink like "Redbull" - warning is due to the high caffine content.

in the real world drinking the whole bottle wouldn't have affected him much....
