This is a good example of what companies here should be doing. Asking what their customers think and then taking their comments on board and making changes. Well Done! Makes a change from all the dodgy cowboys here

We have eaten regulary at Jashans since 2003 when it was up in the village and have always had superb food, yesterday ,we decided to try oleander, it was early about 4pm The meal was great and Riaz looked after us well, the lamb korma was the best i have tasted on the island, and the chicken tikka was superb, keep up the good work Riaz we will be back soon.

p.s Riaz I got into bother for not bringing young Brian a takeaway.

The food is of a very high standard.

2 comments to make though.

We find when we ask for hot or very hot, it barely comes medium hot and not even as hot as a vindaloo. At Jashans or the Courtyard they get it just right, but Oleander and The Grove seem to be afraid to make what we ask for.

Secondly, the Popadoms tend to be a lot greasier and slighty soggy, or at least on the 4 occassions in the last 6 months that we have eaten there.

We have eaten at both Oleander and Jashans many times, the food is always excellent and service second to none. We are out in a couple of weeks and are looking forward to visiting both places again.

Newlad,

They are both on the main road from Kyrenia to Lapta.

Jashans on the left (coming from Kyrenia) just passed Lemar but before GAU.

Oleanders further towards Lapta just past Tempos Supermarket.

Hi Riaz

My husband and I visited you in April (we were the ones showing you on the computer how to find cyprus 44). Just want you to know that we had a lovely meal that night and will be back again in August. We think its been a really good idea to ask for comments as this is a brave move and shows that you take pride in the food and service you provide.

Haven't tried Jashans yet but as we'll be out a lot over the next few years I am sure we will be regulars at both.

p.s. we had nice crispy poppadoms and the starters and mains were Lush! Thanks

For anyone who did not see the Jashans thread. We had a bad experience at Jahans a while back and Riaz kindly invited us back. He was not at Jashans the day we decided to visit so we met him at The Oleander (which is where we had dinner). This is the review I gave on that thread, so only fair to put it in this tread too.

How would I describe the meal we had in one word? Fantastic!!

The food was excellent and the service second to none. The staff were friendly and helpful and made you feel welcome. It was a pleasure to meet Riaz for the first time and he is very knowledgeable about the food and ingredients that are used in the restaurant and a very nice guy. I can see why so many like to go when he is there.

Going back to the food, we had Chicken Tikka Masala (hot) and a Chicken Jalfrezi (med). Both of these dishes came with rice, naan breads and popadoms (which we had for starters). Our little one had grilled chicken, which came with vegetables. All the dishes were made with fresh ingredients and tasted very light unlike some curries which can be very stodgy. Every mouthful just melted in your mouth and you could not wait to eat some more. The naan bread is thin rather than thick doorsteps but so tasty and accompanied the main dish very well. If I had to say anything negative it would be the size of the mango chutney portions but you can always ask for more like we did. Nothing seemed to be a problem for the staff. We don’t generally eat desserts but Riaz recommended the Indian Ice Cream so we had one of each, Almond and a Pistachio. Wow, loved it. What a great end to a fantastic meal. We washed all this down with a bottle of rose, which for the record was delivered to the table as you would expect and was put in the glasses rather than on us.

I would highly recommend both these restaurants to you all. Those of you that go regularly, I can see why you do. If you have not been yet, please give it a try, even if you have curries at the courtyard and grove. This is different, you will love it. We will now be regulars there too. They also do a take away service as well. We had a good look through the menu and if you do not eat curry, there is a great selection of other dishes from chicken to steak and all at very good prices. Top quality food but not for the top prices you can pay elsewhere.

Overall verdict would be ***** (5 stars) both for food and service. Top Marks.

Well done Riaz. You will be seeing a lot more of us from now on.

I think service is very important for restaurant to enhance it's efficiency. In my restaurant i use the calling system to improve service, customer just need to press the button on table to order or check out, avoid the case that customer have to cry out loudly in public, provide customer with convinient experience, and the price is also reasonable. you can find more detailed content on http://www.finyelectronics.com

Hi Riaz good luck with the season my friend. You know we love your food and you always do your very best for everybody. Im just a little worried by the amount of Indian restaurants now opening its saturation point. Are you all related cos if so maybe you will dilute your own buisness. I wish you all the best and all the love xxxx

Hi Riaz

We came for Sunday lunch today. I must say it was excellent. We didn't have to wait ages and the food was hot and very tasty. The service was also very good and after we used the pool. In all it was very enjoyable and we will be coming on a regualr basis.

Riaz,

As we have mentioned in person several times – we really enjoy both the Jashan and Oleander Restaurants and have been going regularly from when you opened them.

We highly recommend all your restaurants, the food is fantastic!

We would also like to thank you again for all your support in helping us with the opening of the Levant Bistro & Bar in Karmi.

Cheers, Levant

We have been to Oleander several times both during the week and on Sunday and on every occassion thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Lovely surroundings, good food and above all staff who are pleasant. Just perfect. Last time we were out Jashan suggested we try Wednesday night with Katie B. Not a large number of people but we had a thoroughly great evening which was helped along by a group of Swedish girls who really knew how to enjoy themselves!! Keep up the great food and atmosphere. See you all in October.

FAO RIAZ/JASHAN,

Thinking of visiting either Jashans or Oleander in the coming weeks. My girlfriend has a nut allergy however and is a tad sceptical.

Could you advise how to go about this?

Ps, she is a big fan of Chicken Tikka Dupiaza back home, and I dont see that on your menu.

Many thanks

Ace, my daughter also has a nut alergy and has to carry an EpiPen with her, not great but it has helped her in the past when she has had a severe reaction despite assurances when eating out (she does eat out a lot) that there is nothing in the food that she has ordered has nuts of some form or other included in the ingredients.

Also, in the past we have asked Riaz to cook an indian dish that does not appear on the menu and he has always been able to oblige.

Bon appetit!
